It’s almost as if not taking any fit left backs was a bad choice. Mitchell and Doughty sitting at home while Trippier pretends to be a left back 😂

He had an awful season for Newcastle, cost them a few goals with his lack of pace and positioning

Complete arsehole.

As with the other mention of Steve Bruce. There were so many games where the stadium was rocking, the crowd backed him, Steve Bruce claret and blue army, everyone around the dugout where I sit was nice to him, too nice to him. Anyway we would lose , get booed and he'd chat about the crowd being against him and the team and making life difficult.

Get rid.

He will only be shown up more in the knock-out stages.

The 3 group games are the ones you can literally nail down a gameplan months in advance. He's had since the draw in December to get ready for Serbia, Denmark and Slovenia. When the players arrive, they should have a script ready for them on exactly how they should be playing, how the opposition are going to setup, what the approach will be for those opponents, then it should be making adjustments for the knock-out games when the opponents are known at shorter notice.

Thats why its unforgivable how clueless they look on the pitch with regards to the system and all this tweaking. Unai can put a gameplan together in 2 days, Southgate had 6 months. If the players are then missing chances, are rusty etc. that can happen, but that's not what happening here, they shouldn't be looking like they have no idea of what they are doing on the pitch.

To be fair to Southgate he can still turn this around, England are in the next round but there is no more wriggle room for excuses he has to deliver from now on.

This is all standard Southgate, it's working to script. Finish top of the group beating the crap and struggle against anyone half decent.

The only way he turns this around is if he *****s off half way through.

He won't be at the next tournament, no way, he's struggling his knackers off. He's only keeping sane with the fun he has with the players pretending they like him.

Agree with what you've said but actually explains why we won't be any worse in the knockouts.

He can't plan given 6 months, so having 2 days makes no difference to him.  We'll be exactly as bad as we have been.

Foden has gone home to deal with a “family issue “.

Probably involves fire extinguishers and stiletto heels.
