Lopetegui is a better manager than moyes, he will have them playing decent effective football; He also is a bit of a bogey manager for emery.

The thing he is not is expansive, the thing the west ham fans were crying out for.

What happens when he starts to lose and the comparison with moyes starts?

All of their b*llend fans will be ringing up Talksh*te and be crying about how he doesn't play the 'West Ham way', whatever the f*ck that is.

Don't think we can grade anyone's summer just yet but we can assume that based on players added or retained and/or the lack of European football that  Man U, Newcastle, West Ham and Fulham will all be stronger competition for us next year.

Not saying they'll overtake us but they'll be tougher as they've improved on paper.

How so? not biggest fans of our window but have done more than United and Newcastle so far. Fulham have probably lost their best player and thinking of bringing in our fourth choice centre back

Man U  -  haven't spunked money on what CarryOn would call DOBs like in previous years and are addressing some of their weaknesses. They can't be as bad as last year imo.

Newcastle  -  as highlighted they'll be stronger from no European football. Add that they crucially didn't lose any key players (met PSR needs by selling young squad players  - Minteh + Anderson) and have players returning from bans/injury.

Fulham - Adarabioyo is a loss but Cuenca is potentially a smart buy. Yes Palhinha is gone but Silva is a good manager who can use the got good money they got for him. Sessegnon on a free could also be a decent pick-up

So Newcastle haven't strengthened (yet) , Fulham are weaker, West Ham have acquired a bunch of mediocre players, Man Utd have bought some players with potential but not much that elevates their first 11... But they're all going to improve?

Teams don't go into the season trying to be worse. They've each made moves to try and strengthen and as stated, IMO they'll pose greater competition (not saying that they'll all beat us) because I think they'll be better than they were last year. What that translate into points who knows.

Whether you question the amounts spent, wages paid or the players themselves... United & West Ham have better/deeper squads.

Newcastle gain from who comes back (Tonali was a very good player in Serie A) and reduced workload.

Fulham are a tidy team and admittedly i'm maybe punchier on them than most people but I think that's in part because for me Silva is a quality manager. They've done well in preseason without Paulinha (beating Benfica & Hoffenheim) and will get more buys in over the remaining part of the window.

I thought zouma was going to Saudi and paqueta was facing a ban?

They've had a good summer but the manager appointment will be the biggest difference and I'm not sure they'll make the required jump, they'll be a decent teams and get some good results though

Not looking forward to facing them away first, they'll be full of optimism

Is the manager that much better than Moyes though? Personally thought he did a great job there.

Zouma move to UAE off after failed medical. Spam already bought in an expensive replacement in Todibo.

Window stays open until early October so can still see him going somewhere East

Maybe Man C would be interested in Jhon Duran now that they have a Julian Alvarez sized hole to fill in the squad. He did score against them... Probably not. Can't imagine they'll go into the season with just Haaland who missed a big chunk of last season due to injuries.

Oof. That’s dirty.

Its how the release clauses are triggered in Spain. The player has to go to La Liga HQ and pay it over themselves. The buying club usually gives the player the money back

Liverpool it looks like are just trying lower fee
