No offence to Villans across the pond but it pisses me off that we play any friendly games in the US. Can’t see why we can’t play them all in Europe.

Interesting line up - Digne more defensive with Cash more attacking?

McGinn I would guess is on the right, with Bailey and Rogers up front and Illing-Junior on the left.

Like last game

Archer was the main striker in the first half last game, with Rogers in the shadow striker/support role.

Looks like rogers is the primary striker tonight.

I'm guessing it'll be like:

Olsen

Cash-Carlos-Torres-Digne

Bailey-Onana-Barkley-Iling

McGinn

Rogers

Similar to how it'd be last season where Bailey would provide the attacking width on the right and McGinn would play more central.

I'd have thought:

-----------------------------Olsen---------------------------

Cash----------Carlos----------Torres--------Digne

-----------------Barkley-------Onana--------------------

McGinn-----------------------------------Illing-Junior

----------------Bailey-----------------------------------------

----------------------------Rogers---------------------------

We played a lot last year with McGinn on the right, in a narrow position and Bailey then given licence to attack from that side - later in the season we seemed to do more with Diaby where Bailey is and Bailey where McGinn is - but I think those two are very capable of playing on that side. Whether Rogers plays as an actual front man or in a similar role to Bailey just from the other side will be interesting - I'm not sure Illing-Junior is naturally a narrower midfielder who would make room for Digne coming down the left outside him, in the way we normally play, so it suggests a change of tactic down that side - it'll be interesting to watch. We're trying lots of things in this pre-season.
