Tegis Posted October 17, 2008 VT Supporter Share Posted October 17, 2008 Anyone tried it (invite only at the moment, and no I haven't got any to give yet)? It's effin brilliant. Thousands and more thousands of songs and artists right at your fingertips. Excellent audio quality and for those of you who know me, it takes a bit to get my approval. It's a streaming service but buffering doesn't exist. Feck knows how they do it. The only thing missing is a client for a mobile so you can listen on the go and not only at your computer. It's free with about one ad an hour as far as I can tell. Completely ad free cost you about a tenner a month but you can listen 24/7 either way. I sound like a sales drone but this is exactly what I want from an online music service. And yes, It works on a mac! :winkold: Edit: Forgot the link http://www.spotify.com/
trekka Posted October 17, 2008 VT Supporter Share Posted October 17, 2008 I'm a big fan of GrooveShark (as you'll probably know from previous threads ), also free and has a good database. This sounds very promising.

daft
Indeed, Spotify is the thing right now. I've looked all over for an invite, but no luck so far. Everyone I've talked to says it is a great service.

NulliSecundus
I just buy my music online off a russian site. Legitimate and incredibly cheap. Saves me having to have to have an internet connection to listen to music, and stops me getting into the shit if i get caught lol.
daft
Spotify is areally, really good. I can see where all the hype came from now. Got an invite earlier today and the client feels very lightweight (in a good way) and easy to use.

They claim to be legitimate, doesnt mean they are.

JohnCresswell
Please, please keep this on a discussion on LEGAL music sites. Anything illegal will close this thread.
daft
I got an invite from a Swedish newspaper. They had some sort of promo. Otherwise I think you can register your mail address on spotify.com and wait for an invite. Long que though.
acwilliams
Where's my post about nuTsie.com gone? It is legal!
JohnCresswell
Sorry - the name didn't look particularly legal. My mistake.
acwilliams
No worries. It is actually affiliated with iTunes and it encourages you to make a playlist of songs to buy within ITunes. It streams the songs and allows 5 'listens' per song.
