I’m not dismissing your points but using that game to show anything is silly. Paul McGrath could turn up drunk, but I think we proved that day that 11 players can’t play PL football after dragging themselves over the CL line then going on a three-day bender. I don’t know anyone in football who expected anything other than a huge Palace win that day.

I thought he got 2 yellows and it was only straight reds that carried over?

This is where the pivot of Kamara-Luiz is really going to be missed especially given the attacking quality we're playing in the opening two weeks.

We just concede far too many goals without Kamara on the pitch and it's been a problem for over a year so not really sure there's an easy solution to solve things.

West Ham with their signings are much stronger this season which Villa are soon to find out.

It's arrogant in the extreme to dismiss such teams and the type of attitude that may very well come back and bite you in the arse.

We were running on fumes against Palace, hence the squad depth.  I don’t fear Palace or Wet Spam.  They may beat us, but they are inconsistent and we will finish above them

Did Hermoso sign for any team yet? I won’t be against him coming and keeping Bogarde. That give us a breathe until January to see how will Mings come back.

Those 3 played last season and we still conceded too many goals.

It’s a problem.

Torres not being able to defend is the main issue but because he’s Spanish and can pass a bit, everybody just ignores it.
