It’s you being hypocritical.

there’s always one who thinks a few loses in preseason is the end of the world. This year it’s you. Hard times for you.

im quite excited for the season

In fairness, I also think that if we enter the full season as we are then we will be lucky to get any European qualification again. Fortunately, I also know we haven't finished in the market yet so hopefully that will address a few concerns I have.

I got shot down when I suggested our defence was bang average last season. Then got told that any team in the top 5 would kill for our options 😂😂😂

So many people on here think our defence is poor but think Torres is the best thing since sliced bread. We'll continue to ship goals if we play defenders who aren't very good at defending.

Things feel a bit weird at the moment…. What’s going on?

- Two players who are behaving like children and trying to force moves. (allegedly)

- An unbalanced transfer window (to date)

- Poor defensive displays, I don’t care that the matches are pre season and all that jazz - we look very very weak at the back.

- Players seemingly still not wanting to join us despite champs league.

- Disjointed performances since we arrived in the US.

It feels like we are masking over a few issues with the various positive bits of PR.
Is it a toxic environment from the players side of things? Are there issues between Emery and some of the players?

It’s all a bit odd.

Come on pal have some confidence in your club, manager and players. We’ve not even played a game of the 24/25 season!

I think one thing to note is the shift from hunter to hunted. In the last 18 months with Unai we’ve been striving and pushing to elevate ourselves. Now we've made top 4 suddenly we have something to lose. It’s the equivalent of being 2-0 up in a game last season. The nagging feeling kicks in that the wheels are falling off.

A bit of me feels the nagging worry too but you know what, let’s just strap in and enjoy the ride this season. We’ve got so much to look forward to. UCL fixtures out at the end of the month, key players back from injury, a couple of high quality additions. Watkins coming back a national hero. And above all else a relentless manager who all the players believe in and has unlimited credit in the bank. Even if we have a Newcastle season this year you know we’ll come back stronger

But we may buy a CB and we still in the same position at RB.

The same reason why Arsenal bought centre back Ben White but play him at right back.

If mings can get back up to speed quickly. We are going to be in great shape for next season.

Funny how things change so quickly, it's now a question of who partners Konsa.

I think you've missed out us not winning a PL match so far this season.  Scandalous. 😉

That’s still a big ask. We will have to manage him closely. Especially if he’s not back until Sep/Oct.

Had a quiet chuckle to myself reading the last few pages.

A full England international CB coming to Villa to be a squad player lol.

If there is any truth to the matter at all (I doubt it) he would be coming in to partner Konsa at CB while Torres would be benched. Torres isn't quick enough to play in a high line or have enough physicality to deal with a high ball. That was clear last season!

Get real guys.

You really think Emery is going to bench Torres? Cloud cuckoo land if you think that.

i havent been involved in any Guehi chat, but Emery quite literally loves Pau Torres, so there is zero chance anyone is coming in to replace him in the starting 11.

I wouldnt pay 70m for him even if he was a starter tbh, might be a good player, but its terrible value, a bit like Maguire for 80m, he is a decent player, but that England tax is absurd for what you get.

i would eat my hat if we agreed to pay 70m for Guehi.
