Bit of a low bar for the 4th most expensive transfer ever, no?

He's definitely not a trash player, but he's miles below what was reasonably expected of him given his early displays of talent and transfer/wages fees commanded. I look at him, and I see a player that just DOESN'T CARE. Terrible waste of talent. I've seen many similar cases from our local league, I can't recall a single one where the player got his shit together and realized his potential.

Sometimes careers get derailed a bit and a high price tag is not a guarantee of a great signing - you can look at the top 20 and you've just as many, if not more, misses than hits. Besides, it's not really relevant to the discussion because we wouldn't be paying near that for him.

The fact is he's 24 and his best years are ahead of him if someone who is great at getting the best out of players can take him under their wing. The talent is undoubtedly there and who better than Unai to build him back up?

I thought the consensus was Mcginn shouldn’t be in the midfield 2

I’m honestly not sure where I think McGinn is best.. 10? Right mid? Left? CM?

Ross Barkley at Luton last year after years wasted count?

To me, he’s A roaming 8. Does all the number 8 tasks, just anywhere in the pitch

Rogers for Ramsey then?

I had Ramsey over him due to his defensive work

If you were starting Enzo and Onana were not short on defensive cover.

JJ has a very hard road ahead to be starting ahead of Rogers who is looking like one of our best players and has a scary high ceiling.

Are you having Mcginn over Felix and Bailey then?

Not at all, someone just asked what position mcginn is best in.

Eze isn’t needed. JJ and Rogers basically fills his positions and roles

Think Eze is better than both plus we don't know if JJ is going to be the same player after his injury?

Better doesn’t mean we need.

and I think Rogers will end up a better player than Eze. Be it in a different role.

we wait and see what JJ becomes., still a lot of high potential in him

As things stand right now, I'd probably go with:

-------------------------------Watkins-------------------------------
--------------------------------Rogers--------------------------------
Ramsey--------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------Onana----Tielemans-----------Mcginn
Maatsen-------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------Torres----Carlos----------------Konsa
-----------------------------Martinez---------------------------------

We need to see more of Barkley, Barrenechea and Nedelkovic before knowing if they're ready to go straight into the team.
Ifs and buts.

- Sign Felix and Rogers moves to the left with him and Ramsey fighting for that spot. If Felix is injured, Rogers plays the SS. I can't see a team without Rogers because I think the lad has 15 goals in him from any position.
- Sign a new centre half and Carlos is dropped
- Sign a new RB then Konsa moves back to CB and new right back fights with Nedelkovic for starting spot.
- Kamara replaces Tielemans when back from injury.
- Bailey used most as impact sub where I believe he excels most.

I see the logic in this. Particularly your take on Bailey

Ramsey benched and Bailey in and switched to the right.  Carlos imo can’t be in the starting eleven whatever.  I think when Kamara is back it’ll be the three of Tielemans, Onana and Kamara in midfield and then whoever’s playing takes the front three.

That was because philogene demanded to be sold, we wanted to keep him but we couldn't promise consistent minutes

He had a contract, so any demands mean FA.

Rogers and McGinn both start.

People forgetting Tielemens as well.
