Nope.

They seem more defensive and too dissimilar.

Again, Baena and Goncalves are attackers (and relatively slight or small) and not midfielders. They would get overpowered and lost in central midfield, would either play out wide or in support of CF. We need to stop thinking of them as CMs.

Kokcu was a good shout mate. Think that’s much more like it.

We do need a proper set piece specialist in the team imo… and could get someone better, in that area at least, than Dougie.

We have heavily relied on Dougie to make us tick and create for fun (stats showed he was the most creative player in our side over Una’s time, especially the previous season or when Bouba was playing with him). Crucial for building play too.

We tried to rest him in ECL games but were poor and struggled. Had to bring him off the bench to get us playing and lay chances on for teammates… he did it quite often. Got us out of a few holes.

Once again, anyone thinking it’s going to be easy to replace him or what he gave us… is kind of kidding themselves. But I back Unai to find a way… wouldn’t have been on board with letting him go (even though we had to, had to move someone on for PSR) otherwise. There must be a plan.

Id argue with this and say from that list Vitinha is quite attack minded but not as composed as Luiz and more full throttle whenever he receives the ball, but he is extremely creative and can score exceptionally well, hes 5’8 and maybe a tad small for physical presence but could be worth the risk 🏆

Id say if anything we are bigger than Spurs but not Chelsea with Man City it’s a toss up, we also are the longest most successful club in history for silverware and that isnt changing for now because of how long that period lasted, so Aston Villa whether we have fallen massively since or not are still in that top bracket, alot of our fans may not look to the past which is understandable but if they realise how gigantic we once was they may view things different and that is completely fine if one is unaware.

Our rich history gives me the optimism about our future, we shouldn’t feel any of these clubs are superior United and Liverpool included as i said we have reigned at the top for the longest ❤️

Yes but remember Chelsea and Man City are money clubs. Fair enough it’s got them the trophies to give them relevance but without those sugar daddies they would be smaller than us. Spurs have never had rich billionaires buying them success, I’d still regard them traditionally as bigger than Chelsea and Man City.

I feel the biggest clubs are:

  • Man Utd and Liverpool
  • Arsenal just below them
  • Then a toss of a coin between us, Spurs, maybe Everton, Newcastle, and probably Man City and Chelsea because of their billions spent on players

But you’re right we certainly shouldn’t feel anyone is superior, clubs or players. I think our fans sometimes make us seem smaller than we really are, maybe because of being haunted by the bad times. It’s only Eze, obviously a good player but he isn’t some kind of generational talent, whilst we’re in the Champions League with a top manager. He’d be lucky to join us to be honest, we’d be the biggest club he’s ever played for by far. Not like suggesting Mbappe or Bellingham.

Chelsea, Man City and Spurs are ‘bigger clubs’ than us atm. Just the way it is I’m afraid.

In some ways they are, more media exposure, more global fanbase, obviously bigger revenues. That’s why we have catching up to do in those areas but we’re moving in the right direction having finished above two of those teams for two seasons in a row and with Emery signing a contract until 2029 there is a good chance we continue to finish above them and keep building our revenue.

I think we can compete with 2 of those teams (Spurs and Chelsea) for players right now and have a chance of signing them. I don’t think it’s ridiculous to think that. I certainly don’t see Eze as being above us.

Just Nas and the lads enjoying a meal and planning our epic transfer window and CL adventure.

Nas always reminds me of Bishop out of Aliens, wonder if he’ll do the knife trick

I wonder who picks up the tab? I mean, Nas is a billionaire, but if Emery gets it he can claim the tax back. 😂

We are not willing to pay the amount of wages they currently do right now. The revenue is still far away from them.

Probably a business meeting so one of Nas’ companies will pick up the tab and set it against whatever tax they pay.

Orrrr Option 3. Sign all of them and best man wins the position. Plus, think of the depth!

Kayode and Todibo in, Cash and Carlos out. That is the solution.
