And that we have actually been tracking Iling Jr for quite a while.

So it's not like we are just scatter shooting.

Aside from this they were heavily intimidating that alot is going on behind the scenes, both outgoings and incoming.

This can’t be true as various people of this forum have stated Emery just has to take what he’s given in this deal?!

Don't think we could have pushed much harder to be honest. We threw everything at him and were offering to pay £50m when he was out of contract in 6 months!

I think his last season, along with his prior track record, elevated his potential destinations to teams currently above our standing.

He would also demand huge, huge wages. Atletic Bilbao barely spend anything on transfer fees, due to their player policy, and so can put a lot of their money into wages. Reports are that Nico is already on over £150k a week with them.

Him and Bailey on opposite flanks would be ridiculous
