Realistic signing: Some player Chelsea don't want on loan
Would like signing: Lutsharel Geertruida
Dream signing: raiding Barca for Jules Kounde & Vitor Roque

Pretty similar 👍

Cross Victor Roque off ya list as he’s joined Betis on a 2 year loan with option to buy…

Broken record here but I still want a Geertruida type at least.

Everyone could see the main priorities we needed to sort this summer window were a defensive right back and a defensive midfielder… we’ve sorted the midfield but if we don’t sort right back in the next 6 days then I would class it as a poor window. I like the signings we’ve made but there will be a glaring gap in our summer business if a first choice right back hasn’t joined.

He would take a lot of pressure off of Ned and Cashy and give us more options in the middle too. The most logical signing we could make. I really want it to happen.

With just under one week left, I've put together a list of players that we've been linked to since the end of last season. Even the most tenuous of links. Note: It's probably not a complete list, and some sources were better than others and I've probably made some mistakes.

So these are likely First Team players that we've been linked with (even on the lowest of tier websites), who haven't signed with a different club (or about to), or haven't signed a new contract at their current club (or about to) according to latest news.

Goalkeepers - None (Luiz Junior from Famalicao moved to Villarreal last week)

Defenders

  • Lutsharel Geertruida (RB, Feyenoord)
  • Joe Gomez (CB/RB, Liverpool)
  • Oumar Solet (CB, RB Salzburg)
  • Jaka Bijol (CB, Udinese)
  • Michael Kayode (RB, Fiorentina)
  • Trai Hume (RB, Sunderland)
  • Lorenz Assignon (RB, Stade Rennais)
  • Sebastián Boselli (CB, River Plate)
  • Cristhian Mosquera (CB, Valencia)
  • Bradley Locko (LB, Brest)

Defensive/Central Midfielders

  • Adrien Rabiot (CM, Juventus)
  • Gabri Veiga (CM, Al-Ahli)
  • Bryan Cristante (DM, Roma)
  • Ederson (CM, Atalanta)
  • Andy Diouf (CM, Lens)
  • Lewis Orford (CM, West Ham)

Attackers (Listed primarily as Wingers or AMs)

  • Federico Chiesa (AM/W, Juventus)
  • Pedro Gonçalves (AM, Sporting Lisbon)
  • Viktor Tsygankov (AM/W, Girona)
  • Gabri Veiga (AM, Al-Ahli)
  • Alex Baena (AM/LW, Villarreal)
  • Brais Méndez (AM, Real Sociedad)
  • Alberto Moleiro (AM/W, Las Palmas)
  • Andreas Pereira (AM, Fulham)
  • Fermín López (AM, Barcelona)
  • Rokas Pukštas (AM, Hajduk Split)
  • Sverre Nypan (AM, Rosenborg)
  • Ernest Muçi (AM, Beşiktaş)

Forwards (Likely Strikers, Forwards, Shadow Strikers)

  • Jonathan David (S, Lille)
  • Raheem Sterling (W/S, Chelsea)
  • Raphinha (W/S, Barcelona)
  • Tammy Abraham (S, Roma)
  • Karim Adeyemi (W/S, Dortmund)
  • Jean-Philippe Mateta (S, Crystal Palace)
  • Barış Alper Yılmaz (W/S, Galatasaray)
  • Semih Kılıçsoy (SS, Beşiktaş)

If you had to pick 1 or 2 from this list who would you go for? Who would you think are most likely?

  • Thanks 4

Signing (Gerty) please…

Will he? Been injured plenty and rarely comes back stronger. Just comes back as the average right back who dives into challenges. Nonsense cliche.

If we don't make any more signings we still probably have better squad than any CL team Emery has previously managed

PSG ?? Lol

Will we get Hermoso? 🤔

Need that RB…

Unai said he sees Konsa as a main CB… all we have is Nedeljkovic then and it’s too much of an ask and too soon to play him regularly at RB imo.

Carlos is out of favour and will possibly be sold…

Defence is the priority. We have to have enough quality and cover there.

Would love an addition in attack too though but not as important… add more creativity and a free kick threat would be lovely.

Trying not to repeat the names again 😂

If you had to pick 1 or 2 from this list who would you go for? Who would you think are most likely?

Feels like funds are restricted (only down to financial rules/limitations - PSR, SCR)… and we still need to get players out.

I would like to think we could bring in one player without having to move anyone else out but… none of us know. A few more outgoings and we could see 2, maybe even 3 additions but that seems or feels unlikely at this point.

Hoping that this final week brings some pleasant surprises… think it’s going to be busy, behind the scenes at least, and Monchi will exhaust all efforts. He said he won’t stop until the deadline has passed.

Again, I think Geertruida and Baena would be ideal.

But there are plenty on that list I wouldn’t say no to! 😆

and a few i definitely would…

I think Solet and Assignon have secured moves.

Chiesa could be off to Barcelona.

Mate, you can advocate for signing player xyz but how about not linking it to a Villa player who’s given 3 years of effort to us and their unfortunate injury, hey?

He was obviously talking about signing him because Cash is injured

What are you assuming?

All I’m indicating is that we’ve lost a player in a key position, he’s going to be out for a while. We are and are going to be short there so could really do with a signing, that’s all 🤷‍♂️

I don’t shit on Matty either, the lad gives his all and always has an ever since he arrived. He does have his limitations, but he’s not short on endeavour or attitude.

We have a week left… I want us to do what we can so we are as strong as possible and not left short in what is a big and challenging season.

Don’t really see the point of your post or the conclusion you are jumping to.

Mate he’s done a hammy -  not an ACL.

He’ll miss 2 games considering the international break.

Why throw up his replacement as soon as he’s down?

Wow, you’re not gonna let this go are you?

Are you assuming that I’m happy he’s injured? Because I most definitely am not.

I just don’t get posts like this, pursuing conflict or arguments over nothing.

Don’t think anyone can accurately predict how long he’s going to be out for either… not at this point. It’s a concern… and his post concerns me more…

Throwing up his replacement?

We’ve been banging on about defensive reinforcements all summer, the window shuts in a week.

His name has been mentioned multiple times…. And we’ve actually been linked.

Let it go? You asked me a question… I answered. Cut the dramatics.

I just don’t think it’s appropriate to throw out a Villa players replacement as soon as he goes down with an injury. But hey, that’s just me.

3-4 weeks is standard recovery window for a hamstring in a high performance environment unless there’s a) history which Cash does not have, or b) a tear on the tendon which Cash did not do.

Oh, I was being dramatic? 😂

not you? Ok…

Sorry I don’t see things in exactly the same way as you do… no need to get worked up about that though 👍
