Morgan Rogers

He was unlucky not to have a few assists already, just good to see the luck turning and now he’s getting what he deserves. Majestic player, has a bit of the Paul Gascoigne about him in the way he drives at a defence and uses his arms.

The match thread is a horrible place so not surprised. Amount of vile comments in there about our players is disturbing even when we are winning

He was getting pelters in the stadium too. Was a rare breed of angry morons in K5 today. No one was immune from their bile.

(They celebrated the goals though, obvs).

Morgan doesn’t believe the hype. He is the hype.

They must be the ones who could afford tickets. Doesn't bode well.

Who said that was believing his own hype in the match thread ?

That was a heck of a statement wasn’t it. The match thread is a hellish place. I only appreciate it for the speed of updates when I’m out and about but nothing more.

Myself and many thought he should have deservedly been subbed, his first half was a shocker. Unai kept him on though and he produced which is why he's an elite manager.

Feels like him and Youri are undroppable, which is a massive credit to him and how much Unai believes in him.

Definitely not, sorry. He's either playing well and not getting the stats, or not playing well and getting the stats - so deserves his place in the team. But he's definitely not on 'undroppable' level. That's for players on form like Watkins was at the tail-end of last season, for example.

Still, love this guy and he's playing his way into England contention by the end of the season if he keeps this up.

Having now seen the highlights the comments in the match thread are infuriating. Believes his own press etc. The strength, the vision, the desire, he has it all. He’s so young. He isn’t going to be perfect all the time (what player is) but he is absolutely bossing it a lot of the time and what did we actually expect by this point when he signed…perhaps that he’d be on loan to Norwich to develop???

edit: I accept that I’ve just seen highlights and he might have been poor to start with but the comments are just ludicrous.

Nobody is undroppable in this side really with the exception of Emi Martinez. But Rogers one of the first few names on the team sheet atm surely

Having watched the whole match live on TV I can confirm that he was indeed very shit for the first 60 mins, but bloody fantastic for the last 20 mins.

And that’s ok - 2 assists is what matters in the end.

I didn’t catch the game unfo, just the highlights. What was he doing wrong? Missed passes, bad decisions, bad positions etc? Was it the subs that changed it for him?

Surprisingly his touch was off and he was actually bullied off the ball a fair few times. I was calling him for him to come off instead of Ramsey - shows what I know. He was fantastic for the last 30. Barkley coming on lifted everybody’s game.
