JAMAICAN-VILLAN
Doesn't sound like he's coming here to doss about. However seems level headed at the same time ( Open to a loan ) Hopefully he has the ambition, BUT also the temperament of a smarter young player, to take it in his stride and be patient.
Popular Post JPAngel Posted June 14 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted June 14 The full article is HERE: Quote Kosta Nedeljković for Nogomania.rs: I will be selected for the first 11 at Aston Villa, Dragan Stojković Pixi rightly did not invite me to EURO 2024! The young Aston Villa footballer believes in the work that will lead to a starting place in the Aston Villa team in the Premier League. Serbia went to the European Championship in Germany without a single player under the age of 20. Kosta Nedeljković was not invited to Dragan Stojković's extended list , and he deserved to be called, even if he was on the bench - he deserved it. Barely of age, he goes to the Premier League , where he will try to prove in Aston Villa and England that only one Serbian in the team can make a difference. If coach Unaj Emery can work 12 hours, he will have to too if he wants to play in the Champions League , for the second time in his career at the age of 18. The child of Crvena zvezda became the second most famous footballer from Smederevo next to Aleksandar Mitrović , and Kosta Nedeljković for Nogomania.rs recalls the bus ride to Belgrade, the first ball and is ready for new challenges in Birmingham, which he believed in all his life. " When I was almost seven years old, I enrolled in the first Petlić club in Smederevo. That's when I bought the first red "Adidas" ball in "Đak" and took it to training. My father and grandfather took me, that's when I enrolled. I was on the street all day. I had a break for half an hour. I stayed there until 2016. I played in parallel for Zvezda, Sunday in Smederevo Nogomania.rs. Do you remember your first arrival in Belgrade and the "Rajko Mitić" stadium? " I moved to Zvezda with two other friends from Smederevo. We were in fourth or fifth grade when our parents showed us how to get to the club. Autokomanda is here, ask there if the bus goes to Smederevo. We traveled every day. I always was a good student. Five subjects were answered out of one, I used to study on the bus on the way to school ." How exactly did the injury that separated you from the field in the winter period in the league this year occur? " I repaired the injury in mid-April and from the end of that month I was in full training process. At the end of April and all of May I trained, I played two games. It was an injury called a "stress fracture". It came from too much effort and stress, it was probably because of the transfer to Zvezda, then preparation, and then I was not there in September because of the national team . In October, when we came back, it was time for the league and then the Cup ... Tempo Wednesday-Saturday I had a lot of games where Barak Bahar gave me a lot of chances, because I couldn't face Manchester City or Leipzig before, I was in pain at the end of November and December. while I can walk - I don't use drugs and injections. It was important for me to play in December, and I had to admit it later . How much did the loan to Grafičar and performances in the First League of Serbia mean to you ? " Transition from youth to senior football is very demanding. Graphic artist and the First League of Serbia, where there are experienced players, it's difficult. A lot of running, a lot of duels, slightly worse pitches. It's an adaptation and those six months meant a lot to me. It prepared me I had the confidence of Marko Neđić and I would single out the coaches who helped me, and that was Slađan Nikolić with his assistant Filip Ostojić When we were third with the U19 national team, one of the coaches was Dejan Odavić and the man who helped me a lot in the Zvezda team was Boris Savić . How do you remember the Champions League with Zvezda? " The Champions League with Zvezda is my greatest experience. I remember when we were in Leipzig. At halftime we were losing 1:0 and Barak came and said: "Nedeljković, Lucić and Mijatović are warming up, you are coming in in 10 minutes". We all hoped that we will play, but it was usually if we lead 5:1 and lose 0:4, then we were ready. Then Xavi Simmons scored a goal and there was excitement when we went in, we scored 2:1, and then we looked good. The point was enough for us, and now I think we were much better at that moment, we had a lot of chances. Manchester City was playing in Belgrade , but I didn't want to play against Doku for a long time will be one of the best players in three or four years ." What was Barak Bahar missing in Red Star? " He simply didn't manage. I don't know how it was in Israel, he didn't talk much with the players, especially with the Serbian players. We like temperamental coaches, where we prove ourselves every day. His football vision was perfectly fine, everyone saw that. Yes was different against Young Boys or Partizan , who knows what would have happened ". Experience with Vladan Milojević ? " I have been training with him for the last three, four weeks. He has his own way of playing and his own exercises. He likes to play from the counter-attack, he has a result. He knows the league, he was the coach for most of them the first time when he made the biggest successes with Zvezda. He knows our mentality, good is a coach. I have the best things about him ." Are you satisfied with your parties in Crvena Zvezda? " I knew that I played well in Zvezda. I didn't show my best games. I didn't free myself, but I don't regret a single moment. I played some games well, some correctly. I'm honestly satisfied and proud. If I hadn't played in December, maybe that the transfer would not happen. Aston Villa is the fourth team in the Premier League. I also hope to play next year ." What are your first expectations from Aston Villa? " I believe that I will be able to fight in Aston Villa, just like I did in Zvezda. I always give my best and I think it will pay off. I have always done excellent preparations, now there is a tour to America, so we will see how it will look like ". About the Premier League? " For me, the Premier League is the ideal league. In England, it's important to be energetic, speed, especially since it's my greatest quality, as well as duel play. Dribbling, shots and actions. Strong intensity describes me and that's my style of play. In Spain and other countries are more important, the players are lower in my position and it is different. The Premier League has always been the most demanding of all. I think I will do well ." Are you expecting a loan move from Aston Villa, knowing you have signed a multi-year contract? " I expect myself to be in the starting 11 from August. If I am in the combination at all, it will really be a success and if I enter the Premier League. In Belgrade, I have two or three training sessions a day, I train to be never better. I want to be at a higher level level, to the maximum, so that I could show myself at the preparations and "cement" the place. Wherever the loan is, I have no problem with that. Ideally, I would be there ." Would you be happy to be part of a club from the Championship ? " If it happens, I don't have a problem with that. Whatever happens, I need to play. If it's Aston Villa, it will be a great success. I'm ready and I believe I'll play right away. I'm not thinking about not being there. If it doesn't happen, it's up to me to play and progress, so wherever ". What do you think of Aston Villa coach Unaji Emery? " What I have seen in the past month is that he is a great professional. I have never seen such dedication anywhere. He draws for the players in the gym what they should do while they are working, on the field he also draws everything himself and shows, he wonders. He does all the analysis. When I was injured, gym at 9:00 a.m., then therapy in the afternoon. When I used to come to the stadium at 6:00 p.m., he's still there from 8:00 a.m. I return to the hotel later, and he further in the stadium. That was fascinating to me, that 12 hours is so dedicated ." What does the Aston Villa sports center look like? " I was speechless. They built it almost, renovated it three, four years ago. Twenty courts, a spa center, dentists...Many offices, a basketball court in the hall. The highest level ." How do you see the problem of lack of quality right backs in Serbia and Europe? " I am aware that I am the one who appeared after several years in that position. The right-back is not in short supply only in Serbia, it is probably difficult to find a quality right-back in the whole of Europe, as well as a left-back - even less often. We had good ones in the past right backs, Dušan Basta , as well as Antonio Rukavina . In the last four, five years, we have been thinner, but I showed up ," adds Nedeljkovic with a laugh. Do you support the decision of Leipzig footballer Benjamin Šešek to extend his contract with his parent club Leipzig instead of going to the Premier League, as announced? " He is a very good player. I played against him. He looks very good on the field, you can see that he is ready. I welcome that move, he may have realized that he scored a lot of goals, next season he may be the best in Leipzig. After a year dana can make a historic transfer. I believe that in the next two years it will be a good decision . How do you see the work of coach Dragan Stojković ? " It says everything when we qualified for the World Cup, where we beat Portugal away from home. For me, Portugal is the biggest favorite to win the championship. At the World Cup, we didn't play the way we wanted. He has results and is working well, and now I hope we will pass group and go as far as possible ". Did you expect an invitation to EURO 2024 ? " Everyone expected it, as did I. I didn't play enough games at Zvezda and it is quite legitimate and justified that the coach didn't call me. He called players who are in full form, which is how it should be. Time works for me, I have 18 years old. The World Cup is in two years, there are plenty of them to play in, so I'm not stressing now ." How long can Serbia stay in the championship? " Against England, I expect us to play smart and well. To get the most out of it. I expect a win against Slovenia , as well as against Denmark . I think we will pass the group ." What kind of relationship do you have with Aleksandar Mitrović , knowing that you are both from Smederevo? " We met because his brothers live in my street. He used to come all the time then, he gave me a Newcastle jersey, then he was in Anderlecht and transferred there. I've been following his career forever and he's our best striker. I hope we'll soon we play together in the national team, so I will set up as many goals for him as possible ". Which leagues do you watch the most in your spare time? " I follow everything, but the Premier League the most ". Favorite Premier League team? " Of course, Aston Villa ". Do you follow Serbian footballers abroad? " Of course, I follow Fulham because of Saša Lukić, Chelsea because of Đorđe Petrović . I hope to be their teammate in the future ," Nedeljković concluded for Nogomania.rs.
Delphinho123
I believe we could potentially sell Digne, Moreno and Cash with Konsa starting the season at RB (with this lad as back up) and a new left back coming in (with Iling-Junior) as back up. Seems McKennie might play RB also according to Matt Law in Telegraph. Would be interesting if we moved both Digne and Moreno on. I think we'll keep Cash and if he was sold we'd replace him. Nedeljkovic will be here to fight for mins on pitch

Balkan sports players have brilliant mentality. It's not a fluke Djokovic won all he did in Tennis and you have Ivanesevic finally winning Wimbledon in 2001 after losing final three times. Then the success of Croatia over last 20 years in World cups. Serbia haven't done that well collectively but they've still produced so many good players in multiple positions in major leagues. I love reading the kid saying all that, I think he'll be an excellent player for us in time. No need to put him under pressure from August when we still have experienced players in our squad who can play RB pretty comfortably. If he isn't playing it would be good to loan him out to somewhere like Guimaraes. We have the link with them but as of yet haven't put out any players to them on loan which has surprised me.

I get we have to sell a couple of FFP but to me Luiz as the big sale and then Duran as the younger one to really inflate FFP should be enough. We've qualified for CL for first time in over 40 years and people are genuinely content just to sell half our squad?! If we make 7-8 new signings which would be then needed they're not all going to hit the ground running y'know especially if most of them are barely over 20. The major squad rebuild can wait for summer 2025 as then we will have a fair few with 12 months left and over 30 by then e.g both full backs, Mings, SJM, Diego Carlos.
