Doesn't get much better than this. The whole kit is a masterpiece. The collar, the long sleeves with claret cuffs, the gold trim, the stripes on the shorts, the mostly claret socks with the stripes and gold markings (Reebok branding?), and the shade of claret and blue is perfect. It's not the powder blue that somehow took over or scheme. And the claret isn't pinkish or purplish like some other modern shirts. The only thing lacking is the forgettable sponsor logo, despite the convenient AST aspect.

First ever shirt as a child. Many fond memories.

Alternative view from someone who has no nostalgia for this, the material looks heavy and bad, fit is gigantic (product of the time really) and the badge is the worst we've ever had.

Of the older kits I think this one is the best:

went diving more in to the newcastle store in anticipation as to what we might get, im a big fan of the 3/4 zip training top

Newcastle United adidas Coach's Competition Training Top

Newcastle United adidas 24/25 Players' Training Shirt

Newcastle United adidas 24/25 Players' Training Hoodie

Newcastle United adidas Coach's Competition Polo

they've got 2 colour schemes split in to a coaches range and a players range their away kit is going to be the hooped blue and burgundy shirt from the late 90s (?)

annoyingly they've also got a new era range which even though im not a big hat or cap fan is something we definitely need to look at, said before villa really need to expand their lines, newcastle have 26 different types of hat on their shop, we have like 7 or 8

The Villa merch game is blowing wide open. Like what do you mean I can wear a Villa new era cap?

One of my earlier efforts, if you lose the pattern and change the collar... who do I need to sue?

Well you will have to do it through the small claims court as union only sell about 10 kits a year. You might just get enough back for a meal out on the town.

Continuing the long proud history of absolutely hideous keeper kits. @GarethRDRwill be proud.

Look at those colours. THAT'S how our Claret and Blue should be!

The claret is perfect. Rich, deep, red not purple...

Looked a lot better in 83/84 than the previous year when there were claret shorts rather than white.  Way too much claret!

This was my first kit. I also learnt why you should never wear the full kit to football training when you get to a certain age.
