Posted July 24 Moderator Share Posted July 24 I was reading about Newcastle's adidas/JD arrangement and it looks like Newcastle buy kits directly from adidas at a reduced rate, then sell them on to JD to retail - so the club get four chances to make money, one as a wholesaler to JD, two on the small licensing fee they get when Jd make a sale because it's a Newcastle shirt, three on the initial payment from JD to enter into the arrangement and four because the wider distribution gives them more chance of meeting the sales target bonuses that adidas set as part of their manufacturer deal. They have ran out of certain letters, couldn’t have Watkins and the Foundation sleeve badge, so got to back when things calm down in a few weeks.
