Missed today's race and it sounds like it was a good un - Russell making a gutsy call and then driving the wheels off it?

Lots of talk about Perez getting the curly finger - who do people think might get the seat if he does?

Thought the race was a bit of a bore, difficult to overtake. Only excitement was in the last few laps as the battle for podium places took place although nothing changed at all

How on earth did that weight thing manage to happen? Shame for George, he did great today. Very strange way to get a DQ as it wasn't even a close run thing.

Usually you hear the radio tell them to pick up marbles. Is it a bit of a rookie error by George / Mercedes?

I wonder how it became too light? Something missing?

There’s no in lap at Spa because the circuit is too long so no opportunity to pick up marbles

Apparently it’s because they went for the one stop they had far more work tyres than they would have had if they had a fresher set on

That needs to be a rule change. You can't be including the weight of the tyres as part of the car, because they're perishable. They don't include fuel. They need to reduce the minimum required weight by whatever the usual weight of the tyres is, and then they'd have been fine running a single stopper. As it is now, unless you know you're going to run a one stop before the race, then you can't run one during it. That's stupid.

Great signing by Williams. Will be interesting to see how the team dynamics play out, with Alton having been the defacto team leader in the 3 seasons he's been there and you would have thought Sainz becoming the team leader when he joins next season.

Surprised he didn't go for Audi. Assuming that was on the table. Really hope Williams can make ground up over the next few years.

Would have thought the current turmoil at Sauber/Audi is one of the reasons he didn't go there.

Goes to Williams with Merc engines, who are rumoured to have the best engine for 2026 and if it doesn't work out, his contract expires at the end of 2026 anyway.

Jonathan Wheatley who is the sporting director at Red Bull, is off to join Audi as team principal.

On the face of it, Red Bull seem to be imploding. No longer the fastest car, a second driver who has been abysmal for months and senior figures leaving.
