sidcow Posted July 21 VT Supporter Share Posted July 21 Can't understand how the bestest driver in the world ever couldn't just get last Hamilton without flying through the air after a dumb impact?

foreveryoung
I doubt Christian Horney is the sort of person to bottle having a quiet word with Max after this one.
OutByEaster? Posted July 21 Moderator Share Posted July 21 So they're asking their number one driver to move over to let a driver several seconds behind him come through so that he can't take full advantage of the failures of the championship leader in the race to become world champion? I think Norris has every right to be absolutely furious.
Genie
Mclaren have made a mess here. It’s becoming a habit with them.
sidcow Posted July 21 VT Supporter Share Posted July 21 Quite a tribute to the car that Verstappen jumped in the air that high and has just carried on no bother.
Genie
I wouldn’t want to win like that if I was Oscar
Stevo985 Posted July 21 VT Supporter Share Posted July 21 The other thing to note is it goes back to Lando starting badly that’s cost him this. He can rightly argue that he’d have passed Oscar anyway at the end. But if he didn’t keep losing places at the start of races he’d have won the race anyway
OutByEaster? Posted July 21 Moderator Share Posted July 21 A massive decision by McLaren that will really help Piastri in the battle with Sainz for 4th in the Championship - a pity they had to sacrifice Norris's battle with Verstappen for first, but y'know, team orders n' that. Avfc96
McLaren's fault all of their own making. There was no need for them to pit Norris to cover Hamilton, as Hamilton was never a danger to them.
OutByEaster? Posted July 21 Moderator Share Posted July 21 A good un though that - lots of drama and not all of it on the track. And it finishes with Max having embarrassed himself, been called childish on the team radio in front of a hundred million viewers and getting called in to face a likely punishment for causing an accident due to his own lack of emotional control affecting his driving. Beautiful.
Genie
Fair play to F1, we’ve now got Red Bull, Mercedes, Mclaren and just behind Ferrari all fighting for every place
Stevo985 Posted July 21 VT Supporter Share Posted July 21 Yeah that was an absolute low for Max’s behaviour. We knew he was a moaning petulant child anyway. But today was absolutely embarrassing. He’s just a complete word removed
AVFCDAN
One of the best races this season, really enjoyed that. Absolute mess from McLaren though, Norris really did need to give that place back but it’s ridiculous when Piastri is winning that race from 6 seconds behind. Your lead driver having to do it aswell. Also Verstappen, Christ is he unlikeable. I know winners often don’t have the best personality but my god he takes it to new levels, even his own team don’t like him

Genie
Lando clearly not happy, turned his back on Oscar in the green room. Won’t look at him. Edited July 21 by Genie
