Genie
I thought one of the few crystal clear bits of the handball rule was that if the ball came off another body part then no penalty? Horrific decision

Also need Newcastle to stay in Europe or else there's a much better chance they get 5th over us. They can still qualify for Europa League.
The_Steve
Not a pen, but it's Newcastle so I can't feel that bad.
bobzy
Quite enjoying the delicious irony of the anti-sportswashing crew celebrating a PSG penalty that should never have been given.
The_Steve
Sports washing derby resolved by corrupt refereeing, imagine my shock. Newcastle found out the Qataris can buy influence too.
Mr_Dogg
I thought it was a pen, he has a 'stiff' arm, if that's a thing.

Yup I feel for those plucky Geordies - FFP means their slush fund for UEFA officials is currently much smaller than PSG's!
WallisFrizz
Everyone keeps saying this wouldn’t be given as a pen in the prem. But I think it would, at least a few times. Not that I’m pretending to understand the multitude of rules and exceptions but I’m sure I’ve seen that sort of thing given.
foreveryoung
If Barcelona can get away with paying a referee for "influence", or whatever they wanna call it. It obviously goes on in the richest clubs.

Nah it's a thing in the Prem where if the ball deflects off your body onto your arm it's not given. Guessing that rule doesn't apply to Champions League but it should.

Popular Post Davkaus
I rarely ever turn it on, but as I had a long drive home tonight and saw this controversy, I stuck on TalkShite. Not sure who my favourite geordie was, the first one who called up literally sobbing, or the one who announced, completely deadpan, that he was so upset he'd turned off his Christmas lights. In the battle of 2 of the most egregious sportswashing words removed, I'm only sorry that the stadium didn't explode.

It can be nothing other than corruption unless there are different rules in Euro comps ?
maqroll
That Donnarumma howler was so bad it truly makes me wonder if it was intentional. Nobody wants to admit that games are fixed. Edited November 29, 2023 by maqroll
