Mantis
1 point behind a Man City team many regard as nigh-unstoppable, and we've only scored 2 less goals than them as well. Edited November 26, 2023 by Mantis

MWARLEY2
Last week.. are Spurs still contenders for the title ? ..this week are Villa serious challengers for a Champions League place ? Love the media.
Davkaus
If we're still not dropping away in the new year, the thing that'll cost us is the lack of depth, compared to man city's illegitimately stacked squad. 11 Vs 11 we can beat anyone, but there's a reason the cheating scum always seem to find a new level come March
Captain_Townsend
The return of Moreno, Ramsey and potentially Buendia at some point could be huge in the context of the second half of the season. Also, our style isn't 100 miles a minute so that coild help us sustain the form.

rubberman
Quote Aston Villa Are More in the Title Race Than Tottenham In case it wasn’t already clear, Aston Villa are a really, really good team. Under Unai Emery, they have gone from mid-table afterthoughts to genuine top-four contenders and maybe, just maybe, title hopefuls. https://theanalyst.com/eu/2023/11/premier-league-five-knee-jerk-reactions-to-the-weekend/ Opta's season simulation now has us favourite for 4th and with 0.6%, the next best behind City, Liverpool and Arsenal to top the lot. (so you're saying there's a...gif) While obviously a small chance, 0.6% is more than the rest of the league combined (inc Newcastle, Utd, Spurs, Brighton etc...)
Made In Aston
To quote Neil Dunworth of the Paul Mcgrath podcast... we are title challengers, until we aren't. Any team which is only 2pts off the top has to be a contender. Will we win the title.. Highly unlikely. But if we are in the same position with 10 games to go then surely we can dare to dream?! I don’t think looking at the league table until after the festive period can you seriously assess anything like that. I mean are all teams title contenders at the start of the season because all on the same points? Even at 10 games, Spurs were top of the table and considered title contenders by the media despite not by any sane football fan, and now they fallen away by the 13th game. We are no more likely title contenders either at the moment and like you say, maybe reassess in 10-15 games time. We just need to keep our heads down and win as many games as possible and let the media continue to fawn over their favourites. If in a couple months time things go well for us then we can take a look at the table but I’m just enjoying the moment because we have a lot of obstacles ahead from other teams, injuries, suspensions, form dips or whatever…let’s just keep up what we are doing. Even man city and Arsenal lose to eachother. Extenuating circumstances in both games. I don't think either will be doing that to us again this season. Villa lost to Pool and Newcastle combined 8-1. -7 GD... Villa are now +13 GD. Our offensive output has been simply staggering all season. 31 goals in 13 Premier League matches. We are on pace for 90 goals this season- NINETY!! That type of offensive output is the main reason why we will be in the top4 contention all season. Villa are an offensive juggernaut this season. Every match teams know we are likely to score 2-3 goals against them. Its like playing against prime Citeh offensively- that puts massive pressure on the opposing team to try and stop us.
