What in the @Jas10 blaspheme is this???!!!

Hard for any decent player to shine in a team devoid of style and identity… honestly, the weakest and poorest Italy squad I have ever seen and it’s quite depressing. Even so, hugely disappointing from Spalletti and they proper scraped out of that group!! They should go all out to convince Ancelotti to take over before it’s too late (he’s got to manage them sometime before he retires, would probably pick the right/best players unlike now too)!

Plenty of players will be blamed for their failure or have frustrations aimed in their direction…

Nico would’ve been a useful option but not made much of a difference to such a weak side… 😞  Actually, he might have even been a better and more involved figure at CF, let alone midfield, than Scamacca and Retegui (not a fan) who looked shite. Didn’t create many chances for em though…

Non existent midfield or passing patterns. None of the class and flair that I have always identified with their players… a far cry from fabulous teams and players of the past. Maybe they need to rely on the youth more and make better selections, although they’ve lost some good options due to injury and bans.

No inspirational figures like Chiellini and Bonucci…or technicians like Verratti. They actually played good football under Mancini but things turned sour and losing his assistant & best mate (Vialli, to cancer) must have affected him…

Only players that came out with any credit are Donnarumma, Bastoni and Calafiori.

Its crazy but until they develop a credible striker/strike force they'll be a middle of the pack team. Have to hope Camarda or others kick on with their development as too many have failed to progress (Pellegri, Lucca, Colombo etc.)

It is… they used to have an array of multi talented strikers they couldn’t even accommodate…

and now this…

Yep, got to bring the younger players through and stop selecting mediocre or average ones.

They actually looked clumsy and unable to even control the ball today 🤦‍♂️ absolutely awful.

Got to restore the technical skill and flair.

Problem was this generation that kids in Italy grew up wanting to be Totti/Del Piero style No.10 a position that is gone in modern game
