robby b
How can starting 11 players sleep the night before a world cup final?! I wonder if any of the lionesses will take any kind of mild sleeping pill. I'd be a total nervous wreck, I don't know if I'd get any sleep at all! Maybe a couple of hours, perhaps three, if lucky. I always wondered how footballers slept before matches and whether they needed sleeping pills. Then I saw there's been a bit of talk about it recently since the Dele Alli interview. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/gary-neville-dele-sleeping-pills-30461702 https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/aug/10/addiction-to-sleeping-tablets-a-big-problem-in-football-says-ryan-cresswell

I guess it's okay if it's only occasionally but yeah sounds like it can become a problem if relied on and dosage increased etc.

I would think when they have done the tea, tidied up, done the dishes and moped the floor and got the Sunday roast prepped they should sleep easily before anyone starts……… 1

Is it any different than having an important business meeting the next day Its also just football, its not like they are paramedics or the fire brigade
PaulC
If you don't sleep you don't sleep, it's no big deal. Australian cricketer steve Smith doesn't sleep during a test match.

Popular Post Genie
James starts from the bench, a great decision. Southgate would have put the male equivalent back in the 11. Its so refreshing watching this side.
foreveryoung
Hmm, do I watch the BBC build up presenters at the stadium bringing the atmosphere, or Itv, not even in Australia, Aluko, adverts, but Laura Woods in a little pink dress.
