Wow that is some return for the money we paid and wages we pay. He has had huge opportunity to prove himself and simply hasn't. Persevering with him in hope is simply holding us back ..... we can't afford passengers where we are heading.

Fees are irrelevant now. Most signings we make will.break our previous record.

How you can say he didn't contribute is beyond me.

Post after post not two or three pages ago explaining how this is total rubbish (in addition to that not actually being a word in the English language). He was effective, was one of our best passers and ball retainers and was third top in terms of contributions of goals and assists.

More unrelenting nonsense from you as per.

Opposition fan of a shit team bizarrely coming here to troll our players

Given how much Unai can improve players a policy of signing young talent with good attitude has to be the model moving forwards. Albeit with the right levels of proven talent and experience sprinkled in

To be fair he had some good performances towards the end of season, Liverpool for example he was great. But I don’t think we’ll see him as a guaranteed starter, not because he’s bad but we have better, and better attributes. So his value might not increase, we’re not sure if we’ll find any desperate club for a player like him. Sometimes tough decisions must be taken even if you had another plan. We need a backup striker anyway, and for a winger JPB could be a much cheaper replacement.
Diaby, Duran, Cash, Digne/Moreno are not bad players, but they’re players which we could upgrade on, most of them aren’t first choices. So selling while their values are higher is the right move.
Diaby 50m, Duran 35m, Cash 20m, that’s more than Grealish money without losing a starting player (people could argue about Cash and Diaby). Can’t expect much for Digne or Moreno, but selling Digne would require adding Hermoso.

His overall contribution and his stats were actually decent to good for his first season here. I'm not sure what more people expected he played a big regular role to help us get 4th.

The desire to get rid of him is baffling to me. Whoever replaces him if he leaves won't be cheap.

And the pressure will be huge, as usual from a section of fans.

No desire of getting rid for the sake of it. It’s the price for a non starter player. We already have Rogers, Buendia that could be his current replacement while JPB on the wing. That would give us a space to get a backup striker for Watkins. We could also add another player such as Sule or Baena.
I think people need to understand the fact that a lot of sales can happen each window (summer especially). With PSR a lot of gambles will be happening, as long as it’s among the squad (not first 11) we’ll be lucky. But the Luiz thing can easily happen.

I think he’ll go now that the Philogene deal has been all but confirmed.

But we have to use the money to really bolster the quality of the squad even further.

It was interesting to hear about the French revolution going on under Laurent Blanc at Al Ittihad. They’re also signing Aouar from Roma.

Just so many coincidences for something to not be going on.

Some valid points and I get the opposing point of view. Also agree Mousa played within himself at times and in some games he was ineffective. However the majority of players coming to the Prem, don't have anywhere near the output he did in their first years. He's shown from the move to Leverkusen that he takes a bit of time to adjust / settle in before being one of the best players in his league.

I get the idea of wheeling and dealing to sell him so we can buy 2 new players but even if we do that. Signings don't always have a 100% success rate but let's say we sign 2 talented players who also have an adjustment year in year one next season. People will say they're ineffective and we'll **** them off for profit the following summer. Great from a business perspective but what have we become... Brighton. A team who does well but doesn't progress much further to challenge.

IMO the teams who challenge, build teams over a couple years with smart additions. Not by losing some of their better players. Us losing Mousa to sign players who may be better, plays into the hands of the not-so-super 6.

Imagine if we sold Bailey for a small profit after year 1.

Of course he contributed, they all contributed but he's playing in a key position and IMHO has not delivered anything above bang average in that position. Bang average isn't good enough anymore thus I want an upgrade. Even if he stays, I can't see him starting and if he isn't starting then he'll simply deteriorate. FWIW I think he has it within him to be better but its his head that is wrong ..... he lacks confidence and self belief and that shows in his hesitant play.

Despite the constant hype, he really does not have "blistering pace", he doesn't have the confidence (or pace) to take players on down the flanks and he is too unsure of himself to shoot when he should be shooting.

Blanc will be manager in name only. Benzema got Gallardo fired and vetoed Pioli at the last minute. He is running the show at the club

Fastest player at the club... 12th fastest in the league according to PL data.

If the Saudis wanna pay good money for him they can have him, every player has a price.

Would be a shame as he was starting to get some form back.

Sounds a bit like Bailey year 1 if you throw in a few more injuries. For every rocket against Everton, there was him hobbling off. Give him some love and what did we get...

People are forgetting it's not long ago our wing options include Trezeguet, Bertie and AEG so Diaby's output was far from bang average

Does the same apply to Unai when they want their national team to have a better coach?  At some point you don't take the money and you build something

Interesting. I’ve never come across this bloke before. Will see what he’s about.

He mostly posts about United I’m not sure how he knows about Diaby, don’t think he’s the type to be posting for the sake of it though
