PaulMcGrath_5
I’d imagine we’d sell for £50-60mill.
mikeyp102
Didn’t he have the most appearances last season? Emery seems to really like him. He started the season so well, then faded. It’ll take a big offer to sell him.

birdman
Would be tragic to sell Diaby and miss out on a Bailey-esque improvement this season. If mad money though...but nah we gonna need him!
Supervillan78
We’d be mad to sell Diaby now, especially given we’ll have CL football for the first time next season.
Popular Post ThunderPower_14
I think his contribution this season was massively underrated on here. 10 goals in all comps (3rd in the squad) and 9 assists (4th in the squad) in his first season of PL football is solid, and I think we'll see a marked improvement moving forward.

For 2 reasons, 1) people think we paid a lot more for him than we actually did. He cost us €40m or £34m + add ons. Some people think we've paid like £50m for him 2) He started really well for us and then his level dropped before picking up again (he was voted March player of the month by Villa fans for a reason). So the expectations he set when he first arrived added to the expectation people had based on a false transfer fee. Those combined are why I feel a few people underrate him Putting it in perspective Buendia was £33m + add ons remember and adjusted for inflation that's £40m equivalent in last summers money. So Buendia cost more than Diaby. Also worth pointing out he had 0.58 G+A per 90 for us last season and in the season before for Leverkusen he had 0.57 G+A per 90 so by a very tiny amount he was better in goal contributions than in the performances which lead to us buying him. Given that he was mostly played as a second striker and not as a winger shows how good he is. Like Nico, he tried too hard in some games and didn’t score as many as he could have. There’s a lot he can give us next season.
Leeroy
Be very, very silly selling him for big money just to book a profit in the accounts then replace him with a guy who’s had one season tearing up the Championship and who mostly plays on the left hand side. Unless we’re selling Diaby and replacing him with a ridiculously good attacking midfielder like Xavi Simons or Dani Olmo who have performed on the biggest stage then it’s a big no from me. He frustrated me a lot last season but I think the potential is there for him to be one of our best players. Him and Bailey basically nails down that right wing/second striker role for the next 5 years.
foreveryoung
Need a big season from him this year. We want to be saying he played a huge part, not a bit part like last season.

That's very disrespectful to Diaby. 19 goal contributions and more than 3000 minutes played is a lot more than just 'bit part'.
