We’re cool with that? Via OnlyFans, where “models” are supposed to be 18+, and police haven’t found any reason to investigate a crime. I guess it comes down to: do you think (eg) 50 year olds should be banned from looking at porn featuring young adults? If so, fine, but I imagine an awful lot of people would be hauled in front of the courts. What do you think makes this case substantively different? Given the fluid nature of this story I'd probably hold out on judging anyone just yet. FWIW, I’d hold a similar view if they were 18. I’m 36, 18 year olds look like children. Sure, but I’m not even convinced it’s morally wrong, unless you have an issue with the entire concept of porn. It would be morally questionable if there was some kind of relationship or abuse of power going on (which is possible). But if it is just purely sharing images between consenting adults, it’s hard to understand what the fuss is about, beyond homophobia, gossip, landing one on the BBC, etc.

If there’s nothing illegal, I don’t have an issue with the person carrying on at the BBC or anything. I don’t think anything should be aired as it has been - just whether it’s “absolutely fine” morally. But I also accept I’m fairly prudish when it comes to huge age gaps, and maybe that’s morally wrong… …I also think knowing more about society (as a whole) would disgust me

I think he'd get much the same response, honestly, that it's perhaps a bit gross, but I don't think there's much appetite for vilifying someone for polishing their rocket to legal age adults appearing in porn. It might be a bit of a double standard, but I'd actually find it a lot more creepy if someone of that age was trying to engage in a serious relationship with a person of that age, rather than cracking one off the wrist online 3

If it’s true that £35k was handed over I would assume it was partly hush money. I think the onlyfans comment was just a hypothetical, I don’t think this lad was selling pictures on onlyfans. Chindie Posted July 11, 2023 VT Supporter Share Posted July 11, 2023 If a wealthy individual wants to pay an 18yo for dirty pics and the 18yo is alright with it its nobody's business but theirs. Obviously there's some nuance to that dependant on circumstances - if the wealthy individual is in a position of power/responsibility for that 18yo, if the 18yo is incapable of consenting through disability/capacity, etc etc (not that that is the case here). But generally, it's nobody's business but those involved. Theres clearly some moral issues involved - if you're holding yourself out as a whiter than white straighter than straight family man but on the down low you're paying for dirty pics of some younger man there's various morality issues but again that's mainly an issue for those involved (extending to the family in that case if they're unaware) and perhaps the employers if theres an image thing or putting the brand into disrepute kinda scenario.

There's no such thing really, everyone's morals are different. Case in point, there are still plenty of people that think being a member of the LGBTQ+ community is morally wrong. I'd say in the UK that isn't the majority opinion but there is no collective morality on the issue. That's why we have laws
