It does and the new fonts tie things together as @CarryOnVilla was saying previously.

Still a few examples of th old badge being used in corners so that'll take time to update  -  https://tickets.avfc.co.uk/?utm_campaign=Tickets&utm_medium=mainnav&utm_source=web

I like it. Comfortably the best badge we've in in my life time, that's for sure. I like that there's actual thought and reason, and that certain markers and identifiers will be used elsehwere.

It's nice to actually have a proper marketing team in place. We're a serious club, it's been a long time coming.

Someone's been very busy.  Looks really, really good.  Another tick in the "win" column for sure.

The website has had a facelift with parts of the new brand worked in. New crest and new fonts in use:

https://www.avfc.co.uk/

For font aficionados, the curly font family is not custom-made for us, it's a free-to-use font called Medula One available on Google Fonts here:

Quote

Medula One is a friendly rhythmic sans serif with brush-like end strokes. Economical and capable of straightforward display work, Medula One remixes the old and the new, the organic and the modern into a fresh and versatile condensed typeface.

https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Medula+One?preview.text=Up the Villa

The font family used in the crest does appear to be custom as far as I can tell, and the font used for standard body text is Roboto by the looks.

I must say, I find it amusing how people have softened on the badge. When it first leaked, everyone was aghast at how bad it was. Social media was its usual dumpster fire self and was rife with people complaining about it.

Now it's here and it's largely been met with a shrug of the shoulders and fans gaslighting other fans who don't find it to their taste. The internet is a funny place!

I agree, I hate it and I will continue to whinge how bad the main badge is because it is but nothing I can do about it so I will less often whinge but I’m surprised how many fans have flipped or just don’t care now. That yellow on blue, the drop shadow…etc etc…oh well!

Yeah, still a few pages, that haven’t been updated, but I’m sure they’re coming.

Villa’s badge font is

Alverata Black, found on adobe fonts

Good spot, interestingly, they don't use that font as a web font on the website, but an image of the text instead, could be a licensing thing that will be corrected later possibly.

Could be, font licences are damn expensive, we got to think of PSR after all

Clearily the branding team have been doing a lot of work in recent weeks.  The new web-site looks SO much better than the old one (not that that is saying a whole heap) and starts to bring the different branding components together.  Lots of things to admire and appreciate.  It's also starting to point towards how we will use the branding elements in the future.

the new website banner is crisp for sure

They could have used a higher res image for the badge, it looks absolutly horrendous amateur levels of design.

Yes, i was thinking the same. Why is it a version that doesn't scale down properly.

Really do not like the badge still, on all my trawls through free google fonts for headlines I've never though Medula One looked any good. Roboto is a decent readable screen font but I don't like the pairing much, I mean if you're going on a bog standard readable display font for your body copy it must be for practical readability reasons. There are no practical readability reasons for choosing Medula One and neither are particularly complimentary to the Alverata Black used in the logo, no relation that I can see.

Maybe I'm getting old but I'm not that impressed with it, especially the badge, the drop shadow is a criminal act if you ask me. Looks maybe that the designer did it out of desperation when being forced to use the yellow lion on the light blue background. Hopefully the savings on this sort of stuff mean we get a big signing this summer...

I feel cheated about the medula one font. That brand video made out they customised a font based upon villa elements. But naa, just an off the shelf font
