Did another interview, has a Valencia context but most of it ends up being about Villa.

A lot to love there…

this really made me smile:

Is Emery still so obsessed with details?
-Further. There is no other way to win in such competitive football. Our coaching staff is of an incomparable level, perhaps the best in the world. It's like a Formula One engineering team. We work and analyze scientifically to achieve the minimum advantages in every detail.

Huge credit must go to Nassef and Wes for giving Unai such freedom and control and employing “his people”…

for not forcing any restrictions or obstacles, no interference and distractions…

It’s been a dream so far (I can’t ever recall us having it this good and this “right”) and is only going to get better… for once, we have the right people and personalities in prominent and important positions at the club… and they are working well together… may it last as long as possible…

UTV 💜💙

not someone we've heard much from so far but he spoke really well. he's absolutely spot on when he says that the "he's one of our own" chant could disappear one day if things carry on as they are

yes we are in good hand, yes they know what they are doing, but it's all so depressing really

''in future, the fans won't be able to sing he's one of our own''

the governing monsters protect the monsters

Back on topic, seems Damià is very much towing the party line there.  All the press interviews with our leadership over the last few months have been about PSR! Wonder what plans we have for the next attempt to change it.

He comes across really well and looks like another star to have in our structure. Would expect no less if Emery wanted him though.

I love how candid he was in that interview.

explaining the reasons why the club had to sell players they did is rather refreshing to hear.
Hopefully chills out the “there’s no communication from club” folk

What he means about PSR and SCR is that Luiz was a sale to sold PSR while Diaby was more for SCR. As in Diaby profit was like £20m but we can save about 16m in cost from the 24/25 accounts too with his salary and amortisation (and some of his add ons triggering).

The shifting of the squad age to younger is a coat control. Younger players don't demand high wages as it's relative to the wages they were previously on. Their wages increase with age and experience.

In fairness, there's never been an issue with the communication on the football side of things.

True, there has been a few questions to why we sold Diaby, and wanting answers. Now we got our answer in a round about way

Not even that roundabout, very explicitly explains the Luiz and Diaby transfers were 100% related to financial rules, Luiz PSR and Diaby SCR. As depressing as that may be I'm happy we are finally being run properly.

Ahh, I meant it coming from a Talksport interview, rather than official Villa channels.

"The main challenge we have was to keep the beautiful mentality we have at this club," Vidagany said. "Beyond the names of which one has to come, the most important thing was to keep what Unai and the guys start to build when I came in November 2022.

"Everyone who comes here is inspired by the mentality of the existing players and for us one of the keys was to keep him.

"One of the keys was to keep Emi Martinez, when you are able to keep the best player in the world in his position at the club, you are in the right club.

"Any team in the world would like to have him. We are very happy and proud to have him. Not just him, but Ollie Watkins, Ezri Konsa and John McGinn and all the players.

"Monchi wanted not only good players but young players with fresh blood who had spirit we need to push the starting players to try harder too. The squad is deeper and we have many young players who aim to succeed. It’s unbelievable what we have in front of us."
