Any sane person will see this as grotesque overspending.

They're trying to buy themselves a reputation, but it won’t wash with anyone.  The west will still see them as money wasting evil overlords, and the Muslim world will see them as money wasting brownosing hipocrites.

The Muslim world see this as a disgrace.  Lavish spending whilst they starve children over the border in Yemen.

On the last point I really hope this is the case

that makes it smell like bullshit

he will employ a social media team for x amount per year to churn that out, they could run riot

Could be some truth in it, eg 1 tweet per month at $500k per tweet. As you say, no way it’s open ended.

Yeah that sounds a lot like BS. How would a Saudi team that is not subject to any FFP whatsoever, be allowed to compete with every other club in the champions league who are subjected to FFP. Saudi's are just putting this out there, nothing more.

Maybe they'll give them 2 years to fill their teams with signings and then they'll have to comply with UEFA FFP from 2025?

If this happens im **** done with football

I don’t at all disagree with you.  It would be  a farce.

But playing devils advocate…

What are your thoughts about Israeli teams in the European competitions?

Israel are in UEFA though mainly for political reasons while Saudi Arabia are in a different confederation

Interesting if they would let an Israeli team in if they drew a Saudi team in a hypothetical Champions League

Yes, I know.

But why should political reasons be any different to how you feel about teams being allowed in?

Political / financial .  Makes no difference to you or I.

The precedence has been set.  You don’t need to be in Europe.

As for your last point, Saudi don’t give two shits about the animosity.  As far as I’m aware they’re willing to bury the hatchet.  In fact they’ve started steps towards normalisation of relations.

Those in charge are taking a very different direction these days.

Barca and Real aren’t subject to FFP either.
