we can't even sell our established internationals for a couple of million.

I guess you can compare this to Chuk though. Although he was much more established.

This whole thing stinks. City hoover up young talent and sell them for big profit to the likes of Southampton or Burnley.

Southampton's director of football was the head of Man City's academy until January. They had their head of academy recruitment as the DoF last summer before he got poached by Chelsea

seriously you go on transfermarkt, soccerbase and world football transfer database and search for man citys transfer history and between them they don't pick up all their transfers, even wikipedia across their main page and their academy page is missing players that "play" for man city

they must have anywhere between £150-200m worth of assets that they could flog at any given time

Wasn't Tishbola highly rated at the time? Bree was another and ironically did make the premier league eventually although he's regretting leaving Luton now.

Not really. Even when we signed him no-one could understand why we'd spent that kind of money on him.

Yeah, imagine signing a young player from Man City for somewhere in the region of £15m.  Certainly something we would never do.

Douglas Luiz had about 80 senior yop flight appearances. Shea Charles has 14 with a majority playing for Northern Ireland

So it doesn't count if they play games out on loan?  James Trafford to Burnley isn't another example because he played a load of loan games rather than just being in Man City's U23 squad?

It was assumed that Steve Clarke had inside knowledge of his potential, unfortunately didn't unfold, not even when he brought him to Kilmarnock.

Agree in that it's not a stick to beat Southampton with but at the same time don't let that detract from city being up to no good

They are signing a lot of youngsters with no intention of playing them, loaning them for a few years before selling them for a profit

But at the same time as that I'm sure West brom fans might have something to say about us... Difference is city are doing it on a much larger scale

These players are worth whatever teams are willing to pay for them.

If these buying team's DOF's just happened to work for man city until very recently well then no that's not dodgy at all guv. Neither is the fact they recently sold a clapped out old banger to 'John Smith' based in UAE for 250 grand.

Its what we are aiming for. Build our academy so we can take the very best and then sell the others to contribute to our revenue  .

We have 3 of the most promising NI talents in our academy now.  Will be interesting to see if they become as valuable as the Man City ones.

I've got some other assumptions on that deal and it rhymes with crown shaper envelsoap.

I've got this 21 year old he's barely on anyone's radar, nobody has heard if him, he has barely kicked a ball in anger in his career. He's not really a prospect not in any England youth set up and he's going to cost a (at the time) incredible £5m.

Sounds legit Steve it really does.

Milan signed Luca Romero from lazio who's young but with a lot of potential, now signing pulisic from Chelsea, that link to chukwueze can't be real too?!

Not sure who's on their way out if they sign him as well, de ketalaere?

Bayern 2nd bid for Kane, apparently he wants the move?

I mean surely Levy has to sell him this window or he's off on a free next season.

He ain't a Spurs lifer like Levy would want him to be and clearly wants to win something.

Burnley signing Trafford for £19m from Citeh. The worlds gone mad! He looks a prospect but his last loan spell was at Bolton.

Didn't watch Bolton at all, but he's been getting rave reviews.  They had the second best defence (36 goals against) in the league behind Ipswich (35 goals against) and pretty sure he broke their clean sheet record in a season.  Was voted as their YPOTS.

I have watched some of the U21 tournament and he's looked very good - so I'm not entirely sure it'd "worlds gone mad" to be honest.
