Feidhlim
Henry, Ronaldo, Lahm and our very own Gareth Barry all examples of players that changed position and thrived. Henry struggled as a winger. Ronaldo probably great anywhere. Lahm was moved to midfield. Probably loads of examples.

Mazrim
OK cool. Lets ignore the massive resources, access to the entire world of professional footballers, and lavishly supported and funded scouting and analytics departments to find a fudge solution at right back.

Or maybe, he's just an extra body in midfield to cover a potential exit of Dendoncker. I believe this is more... 1

Thing is that we don't really play a "right back"; we play a sort-of central defender, right-back, right-mid hybrid.

Replacing those 3 with Adams and Tielemans for a net spend of £0-£5m would be very good. Then we can focus on spending the rest of our £200m budget on three £65m players. Fair play enough but in the make believe world that Hause, Chambers, Dendonker, Sanson, Nakamba, Davis, Traore, bailey and Coutinho leave……. What makes most sense to me is…. For their rumoured fees Pau Torres 35m Aaron Wan Bissaka 25m a DM (about 20 of them are acceptable) Sessegnon ? Very little Tielemans 0m Guller 15m Pullisic 20m Dybala 12m That lot costs about 140m not including the sales. For that money you get. A Ball playing centre back, defensive right back, cover/rotation for Kamara who seems to get injured a fair bit. A cheap wild card who plays left midfield and is very quick. A free transfer to rotate with Luiz or play in a 3 A wild card attacking player who has no defined role and just turned 18 who MIGHT become a 100m player. A shadow striker who actually scores goals getting our numbers up guaranteed. A player who has been injured a lot and if he weren’t we could never buy him as he is a 60m player minimum. it gives the required numbers, allows us to play the current way, 4231, 433, 4411 so it is basically very interchangeable. Think it's worth remembering Foyth was the right back at Villarreal under Emery. He isn't the traditional right back and started his career central, football in last 5 or so years has changed a lot, the traditional positions have become more fluid

Not gonna lie stopped reading this list when I saw Wan Bissaka 25 million. What makes you think Man Utd would sell Wan Bissaka for 25 million? No chance.

I see what you’ve tried to do , just slightly off with the choice of players, we need two forward players that get almost double G/A to what buendia/bailey have given us over the past season or two and in aid of watkins giving us that 13-15 goal return. Out of the linked Nico Williams, Ferran Torres, Large Ramazani, Harvey Barnes and Joao Felix, i think felix and Barnes are the only players that would be able to get 11+ goals if playing regularly in that forward wide area, the rest id probably say dont hit that mark. However would take Nico as his assists would be a heavy contribution. Edited June 23, 2023 by RicRic

Jas10
I just find it so refreshing that we finally have a manager that we can have full trust and faith in who DEFINITELY, CERTAINLY, ABSOLUTELY has more nous, knowledge and expertise than the likes of us rabble! I’m not so sure that was the case with many of our previous incumbents With a few exceptions, in our recent history we’ve had a real shower of shite managers and players but that’s all in the past now. Just feel like there’s no need to worry and we can just relax and look forward to the future. At the same time, we can speculate and theorise on which players may come in to the side and which we would like to see join us but it can (for once) be done in a relaxed and enjoyable way rather than the stress, frustration, concern and anger of the past it’s all part of the fun of being a fan. Man… just one of many examples but… I still remember my shock and disbelief when we were bringing in the likes of Bowery, Westwood, Lowton, Sylla, Bennett, Holman et al. I was very much in this mode: Not to mention this shite: How TF did we manage to stave off relegation for as long as we did? What a stark difference now, I love this manager and I love these players and I’m sure we will love the players that join us on this journey. Popular Post RichW
This is probably the most relaxed I’ve been with a transfer window in years coming to think of it 2019 - Had to buy a new squad for the Premier League 2020 - Will Grealish stay? Had to sign some quality to the squad after just stopping up 2021 - Summer of waiting for Grealish future to sort itself out. Had to try and replace him somehow 2022 - Finished 14th. Need to sign a DM and try and improve the squad to break into the top half. 2023- Current squad have got us top 7. Finally have a manager we can trust to improve the squad and potentially have a good season. Pretty sure a lot of clubs would be envious of our position right now. 9
