So many managers make players player their formation regardless. The fact Emery builds his based on the squad shows how impressive his thinking is. I don't think he is any better than Ramsey or McGinn - acknowledging that they are all different types of player. Probably offers options from the bench so he adds depth - but (with the exception of GK) we should be signing players that will start in the first XI so that our bench is strengthened by featuring players that have been regulars this season. Everything else has been single goals against us, Brighton, Chelsea*, Brentford and Tottenham (and then yes, some absolute dross). So while you are totally entitled to think he is rubbish, this description just isn’t accurate at all. *tbf could be rolled into the dross.
