Never attribute to malice what can be more readily attributed to shoddy work.

They’ve just made a blunder, I doubt it’s deliberate.

Shame this is a 1am job, should've moved it forward to 10/11pm and had this starting straight after Euros.

Colombia haven't lost a game since Feb 2022 or something mad like that so they've actually got a decent chance if it doesn't go to pens.

Duran taking a pen v Emi would be a very amusing watch.

Doesn't even warrant a sub in extra time as a throw of the dice it seems. I really wish West Ham would step up their interest. £35/40m would be incredible.

He only played on a group stage game, and even that was as a sub after they'd pretty much ensured their progression and were 3-0 up.

They seriously don't trust him and used him to give their preferred players a rest.

He's got potential, but he's more valuable to us as a £35m sale.

I can point to some very good players on the England, Spain and Argentina benches who didn’t get a run out as well to be fair (in any of the knockout games in plenty of cases).

West Ham are never going to pay us, what we actually want. They are happy to be rumoured to be "testing the water" as  such, but when it comes down to it, they will want him on the cheap (like they did the stadium they are using!), if at all.

Duran would be wise to steer clear of them.  Bar a couple exceptions (Koudus, Bowen, Antonio), West Ham's striker dealings in recent years have been awful.... Scamacca, Halle, Fornals, Benrahma, Ings etc.  All then sold for a loss and often going on to perform much better elsewhere

Note how interest sours in Duran as soon as someone talks to him and his agent 🤦‍♂️

Certainly has that feel about it. Wonder if they're coming our with some playing time related demands? Surely that could be his only reason for wanting to leave? Doesn't even have to be that crazy, but these days no team is going to guarantee a starting slot.

Has a real "bridges are burnt" feel about this whole saga.

The club are clearly keen to move him on and he clearly wants to move on, but we are trying to pull a bit of a fast one on interested clubs and presumably he and his agent are ballsing up negotiations themselves.

Wouldn't surprise me if we ship him off somewhere on-loan at the last minute because we can't sell him.

Duran seems the only player that is burning every bridge, even the clubs 'interested'. haha

At this rate he will be a 1 man bomb squad being loaned to some obscure Turkish or Russian club for pennies.
