You're wearing vests. Where the heck can you even buy them? Do you tuck them into your pants?
Rodders
Detectorists episode was poor ghosts and gone fishing with Paul and Bob were brilliant though at.least
Mark Albrighton Posted December 27, 2022 VT Supporter Share Posted December 27, 2022 (edited) Christmas telly on that made the nice list this year - Ghosts, Motherland, Detectorists, Inside No 9, Mortimer & Whitehouse : Gone Fishing. Christmas telly that has made the naughty list (and therefore I won’t be watching it) - Match of the Day. Top prize probably goes to Ghosts. Just a joy. Thoughts on Detectorists - Spoiler I liked it. Some good gags (extending the finds table, “Sheila, you’re breaking my heart”) and I just want to live in that world. I actually think the storyline could have been done over a few episodes at a normal running time, give the supporting characters a bit more screen time to flesh it out. I could watch Russell being glib for a whole episode, while any visit to the Two Brewers pub is welcome, however unimportant it may be. I was a little bit disappointed that Simon & Garfunkel had reverted back to antagonists, I was hoping there would be a new dynamic following the end of the original series. And when Andy and Lance are at loggerheads to the extent they were, the show is quite the oasis of calm that it normally is. Plus, the ending kinda left things unresolved whereas the series finale had tied everything up nicely. But quibbles aside, I enjoyed it. Popular Post Mark Albrighton Posted December 31, 2022 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted December 31, 2022 Daughter is back at mine, so any New Year’s Eve shenanigans will have to take place next year (there was never going to be shenanigans of any kind, there hasn’t been for a number of years now). A few nibbles already eaten, may finish the last of the baileys tonight, watch a bit of whatever my daughter wants to watch (once she’s satisfied that I’ve played enough of the games she’s had for Christmas). I’ve told her she’s welcome to try and stay up as late as she can. We’ll see how she gets on. And how I get on. Looking forward to passing the time in 2023 in the company of VT. Much like 2022, really. Happy new year one and all.

Mine aren't string vests either, more like a sleeveless t-shirt.

UpTheVilla26
We are keeping the tree up for another couple of weeks. Love the glow of the lights in the evening and makes the dank, shit January nights a bit more bareable.
