What happened to Threads. Is it gain any any traction. Seems they really blew their moment.

Released before it was ready.

It's hard to imagine why Musk would be giving some of his government gravy to people in the government. I suspect the TikTok thing is just a massive coincidence.

Strangely I opened mine for the first time in ages the other day. Mine was full of RW nonsense.

What put me off that was you couldn't separate it from your instagram account.

What I use Instagram for and what I use Twitter (or a similar platform) for are entirely different

I'm only sticking around on it in the hope that I'll be able to take part in the websites downfall somehow. Will never post publicly on it again.

I really would like to see football clubs and all government/community organisations to start taking a stand and no longer partake in what is a modern day stormfront.

My account was deleted the moment he took over, the issue is that a lot of new sources I like to read about is there too.

Though, I'm going more and more over to reddit.

I don't want to call out a specific VTer, but they used it for a local football team and not really overtly political reasons, be interesting to hear if they have seen a difference in the types of tweets promoted to them

I follow 245 other accounts. I never use the ‘for you’ option. It is spectacularly rare that I would search for something using the ‘what’s happening’ suggestions. I don’t bother reading comments from randoms in response to tweets I’ve seen. I don’t use it for porn. I haven’t used my real name. I haven’t used my real date of birth. I do not follow back.

I only ever have it set on ‘following’. So other than tweets I specifically want to see, I get some adverts for bags and gambling.

A Quick Look and scroll and right now the last update I saw:

record shop / Welsh politics / Welsh news / S4C / advert for a bag / historian / record sale / graveyard / historian / gambling advert / football / football / south wales police

It works perfectly.

I felt that was the case, it comes down to how you use it in the end.

I almost don’t use it at all now. I used to use it for reference, sometimes I’d have see a tweet (typically politics related) and I’d scroll down the replies to get a sense of what people felt, occasionally glean an interesting thought from therein. Obviously that’s not an option now if I don’t have an account myself.

If I want to do similar these days, I find Reddit is an ok alternative. Although that of course is its own cesspool in places.

I wanted to see replies to something that was posted on here, I found a websiite that allowed that, will see if I can locate it

Edit. Nitter, its officially dead but like TPB lots of mirrors exist, I wont link an example as I am not sure on the legality but a search for nitter mirror will get a link.

He likes to rub a few out in graveyards.

As an aside to this I've discovered my Dad is a closet rubber around the Selly Park/ Selly Oak area. He started with the gateway rubbing of bark then obviously he descended to dead Victorians.

I can't get away from the "For you" nonsense when I used Twitter on my phone so I think it's time to delete it.

I do need twitter but if I am forced to use it only on the PC I at least have a chrome extension that blocks any trending topics, for you etc and is the old school layout how it was a few years back.

Taphophile.

you gotta love that pre Victorian gravestone art

the victorians rather took the fun out of it, when this was new, 270 years ago, it would also have been painted. Bright pink sling, gold clothes, bright blue background, proper psychedelic
