I wanted us to make the change at the end of the previous season when our stock was high, Jack was still at the club and we genuinely looked like the club who might make a break for challenging the top 7 or 8. But Smith was still a massive success as an appointment. He took us from a team that played like relegation from the Championship was more likely than promotion - to promotion ahead of schedule and survival against the odds (given how many players we needed to bring in and how little money we were allowed to spend under FFP). Ultimately he hit his ceiling but he took us a hell of a long way forwards. That for me is a successful appointment. Can anyone see us going down with Dyche in charge? Actually yes. Our squad isn’t suited to Dycheball (and I don’t buy the idea that Dyche really wants to play differently). Coutinho, Bailey and Buendia would struggle to win headers and fight for second balls. The players would want to leave. Relegation very possible, unless Dyche sign some big strong lads in January.

duke313
Poch was passed over for United and Chelsea jobs. He’s not getting City, Liverpool or Arsenal jobs. And Unless Conte leaves Spurs he’s not going back there. His stint at PSG might show he can’t handle big names, so Real, Barca and Bayern will pass. Newcastle aside, we’re the next club that can pay him a big salary. If he wants to come back to PL, it’s us or nobody.

Sulberto21
I also believe we need to pay someone £15m + a season.
Popular Post R.Bear
Poch would be my first choice. Brendan Rogers second. Assuming people are being serious, if we give it to Dyche then we may as well give up and shut the club down.
Adman
Don't get me wrong I'd rather poch, tuchel, emery etc. But I am now worried about the disaster of relegation and Dyche word not take us down imo

Popular Post JAMAICAN-VILLAN
I legit think the board held money back last window as they were having reservations early as well. 12

The conspiracy theorist in me is that Poch is waiting for Conte to leave to Juventus and he takes over at the end of the season, or January maybe if/when Spurs/Juventus get knocked out of the UCL.

Popular Post useless
I think it's pretty obvious they want a big name manager, Matt Law and Percy at the Telegraph are very reliable, so much so that it's likely that the club uses them sometimes to let fans know what's going on withouth the club having to make an official statement, they're reporting that we want one of Pochettino, Tuchel, or Emery because that's what we're setting out to do, Mokbel and Collomose from the mail reporting the same, and they happen to be reliable reporters as well. It might not specifically be one of Pochettino, Tuchal, or Emery that we get, but they're not the only top managers, will end up being someone of that ilk. I don't think there's any chance of Dyche getting the job, as much as he did a good job overall at Burnley we aen't going to bring in a manager that was sacked last season because his team looked like getting relegated, when we ourselves have just sacked a manager because we're struggling towards the bottom of the table.
