Supervillan78
Sterling on a short term loan deal with no obligation to buy, wouldn’t be to terrible IMO. 1

It’s all down to perspective I guess, it wasn’t that long ago that best players we could attract were in the ilk of Simon Dawkins.
Rustibrooks
Sterling would be good for us but his salary is insane, he can get goals for us and run at players wouldn’t be a bad player to have
Popular Post Delphinho123
Hugely, hugely unlikely we’d get anyone like Sterling on loan but I actually think Sterling is an underrated player. I think he’s very good and as a second striker, no.10 type, he’d be brilliant here. Not happening in a million years though.
OutByEaster? Posted January 21, 2023 Moderator Share Posted January 21, 2023 I think Sterling is a very good player - in our system I'd guess he'd be replacing Bailey? I'm not sure that's worth the upset or the cost for a loan.
Popular Post Indigo
The idea that we'd turn our noses up at a serial trophy winner with over 100 Premier League goals to his name seems mad to me but each to their own. There's probably a lot of reasons why Villa wouldn't be able to sign Sterling but him being overrated or any way not good enough would be a long way down the list for me. 9

pete101
For me sterling is very similar to bailey, he has a run of games where he is brilliant and then he goes on a run of form where he is dreadful, don't think he is what we need right now. 28 years old sounds like he still has a lot of time left in him but players like him that bursts onto the scene playing at high level so young seem to get old very fast
Popular Post DCJonah
I honestly don't get the panic. We're not in a desperate situation football wise. This isn't Dean Smith or Gerrard. We have a world class manager who didn't come here because he loves villa. He's come because he's going to get backed to build a European challenging team. **** relax. 6

How many would he have if he didn't have 7 years or whatever at the most dominant sportswashing vehicle football has ever had? He's trash. Can't control or kick the football properly.
Rolta
Looking at our bench there is no way we won't be making more signings.
markavfc40
Two keepers and two youth players on the bench today and we don't have an injury crisis. The act of self harm in leaving ourselves with one senior striker at the club is unbelievable for any club never a mind a premier league one with our riches. Desperately need reinforcements.
Dillon66
Looking at today's bench, somebody needs to pull their finger out. To have to put 2 keepers on it is laughable for a PL club. Edit. Sorry to repeat what previous posters said.... Edited January 21, 2023 by Dillon66

thejoker
It was Emery’s decision to sell Ings, so I’m sure he won’t complain about the bench today.
