He can't move so is of no use to anyone who doesn't dominate possession. Funny that we decided to not sign Callum Wilson on a free due to wages, then sign a worse player a year later for £25m and give him the same stupid wages. We're taking a mighty hit on Ings unless we can mug someone. Callum Wilson wasn’t free, he was £22m

Juventus is the most well known and followed Italian club in the USA. Italian-Americans in the northeast comprise the bulk of the support. It's conceivable that they are wanting to use WM as a marketing vehicle. Juve market themselves more aggressively than any of the others. But if he wasn't actually good, he'd not feature so prominently. I'd rather have Kamara myself. He's the more polished player and better defensively, which is why he's here.

He's a solid 8 but considering how divisive McGinn is in Emery's system, I don't he's a good fit for us now.

Dignes lows haven’t been anywhere near as low at Targetts and Digne has a higher ceiling. We don’t have any obvious continuity at LB but it isn’t a priority this window. Surely we won’t buy at right back as Kessler-Hayden is shaping up nicely there and why stand in his way? Digne is much better than Targett. Targett himself thought so which is why he wanted to leave and not even try to fight for his place in the team because he didn't think he could compete... To your quote about heart or bottle, this is spot on... https://talksport.com/football/1043839/matt-targett-newcastle-aston-villa-lucas-digne/ “It was a difficult decision because obviously last season I was pretty much the only left-back,” Targett began. “I knew the club wanted to sign a left-back and I was quite surprised when they signed someone like Lucas Digne.” He continued: “Obviously he was out there at the time, the club had to do what they had to do, but yeah it was quite hard to take, to sign someone of that calibre. “But if that’s where the club wants to go then I completely respect that. At the same time, I’m 26 – I don’t want to be sitting on the bench. “I want to look back at my career and have played as many Premier League games as possible so that’s probably one of the main reasons [why I left], yeah.”
useless
It wouldn't be a choice between McKennie and Kamara, they play different positons, McKennie would no more be a threat to Kamara's place in the team than McGinn or Jacob Ramsey. If we did sign him the player most under threat would be McGinn. McKennie's a 'eight', at the moment we're playing with holding midfielders Luiz and Kamara, but if Emery wanted to play with two 'eights' in a particular game then McKennie or another eight, would give us another specialist option other Jacob and McGinn. Probably just paper talk anyway, as will turn out to be the case with most of these links, midfield something that eventually might need looking at but I doubt it's a priority so we will probably wait until the summer.

Popular Post Tayls
So it sounds like everyone is on the same page then. Our first signing of 2023 to kick start the Emery rebuild should be: Matt Targett.
