Not playing much for Sevilla currently but mid 20s and scored 18 in 20/21. Was going to mention Taremi of Porto aswell but he's 30 which surprised me. That was 2 seasons ago, he has never hit double figures for a season except that season. Is the type that Wolves/West Ham would sign and we would cry but in general he isnt great

Isak fell off the scoring charts last season but his overall game has looked promising for Newcastle so far. People might thinking signing another forward is overkill but at end of season Ollie will only have two years left on his deal so optimum time to move him on while his value is still good and Ings is old, highly paid and not been very good for us so not a long term option. So a fresh option in final third alongside Archer developing is how we need to do it.
messi11
I'd go all out for David Datro Fofana. The New Haaland of Molde Age 19. 28 Games, 14 goals, 6 assists. Edited October 9, 2022 by messi11
duke313
Interesting interview by Newcastle's Sporting Director: Newcastle United: Dan Ashworth says spending £200m a year on players 'unsustainable' - BBC Sport It kind of mirrors the comments made by Purslow about selling to buy. Spending huge sums of money each transfer window isn't sustainable. Seems Newcastle are in the same boat as us despite their rather rich owners,

Yet fans moan every single year if the club isn't spending £150m+ and masking it as a "lack of ambition"...

Seems Newcastle are in the same boat as us despite their rather rich owners, The problem is why are we spending when we probably have better kids than some of our signings? Why don’t we sell some of the bad first team performer’s? How can we expect clubs to be lining for players who are known not wanted? For me, selling Watkins and McGinn next winter is a priority, we can’t damage their prices more, and we know that if we want to improve they need to be out of the first eleven.
est1874
Quite right that it's not sustainable and is vaguely absurd; however, that is modern football. Seems a bit like entering a casino, losing an absolute fortune betting on bad hands etc, and then afterwards saying "You know, this whole gambling money to win money thing, it's really quite silly. We don't do that." Well you do, actually. You've thrown away crazy money on average players for years, and based on the most recent window, that's still more or less the transfer policy. That goes for both Toon and Villa, for the record. Edited October 15, 2022 by est1874

Ranked 14th in the Ballon Dor Ratings. Not bad for someone who would "get mullered on here"

Guest av1
I don’t want to go OT and start moaning about SG, but the issue with the next few transfer windows is that most managers want fullbacks that can defend and a few wingers/inside forwards. Gerrards way of playing always meant a mini rebuild should he depart.

sne
Haven't been bothered by this until now. Hopefully we get the right manager in and we can shift McGinn and Ings or Watkins to get some funds to bring in some improvements.
