The problem is staring everyone in face but the media fail to mention it. Kane playing as a defender, creator for Sterling, surely should be the other way around?? We have 10 men behind the ball and are hoping for a German mistake ( which they have done regularly) to hit them on the break. El Segundo Posted September 26, 2022 Share Posted September 26, 2022 Sterling is great at getting into good positions but his control, composure, shooting and decision making have always been shite. He got away with at City because he got so many chances. The number of times he runs up blind alleys, and only gets past a man because he bobbles it against the defender and then it falls for him is amazing. No doesn't have to be, look at Son If Kane wants to do his thing at left back then sterling or a.n.other has to either have the brains or at least the instruction to plug the gap up front and go past him, that's largely this England teams problem, we don't commit men forward and everyone gravitates to being that deeper playmaker, Southgate doesn't organise it well enough to put his most creative players there (grealish) or let the midfield runner push right up (Mount or foden) A better manager would have everyone everywhere with this front 3 or 4 and just be full of goals 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
