hogso
Running from Sept 15th to Sunday 18th, there's a bunch of stuff to point out that has been announced (games which will be shown, etc), but for now I'll just post the time slots in JST below, and then the BST stream times. ...with the exception of Konami, cos there is some real JRPG hype there. Rumours suggest it won't be Metal Gear, Castlevania, or Silent Hill. That leaves stuff like Bomberman, Contra and DDR, but... The best hint available so far is that a certain voice actor who was in a couple of Suikoden games will be there. Now, the actual Suikoden devs are at work on Eiyuden Chronicles, but they didn't work on Suikoden 5 either, and that didn't turn out too bad. An actual new Konami Suikoden game would be huge huge news for fans. There is more though. Konami are also rumoured to be announcing remasters of some older games, and although a few months ago I posted with excitement about an artist making reference to working on an Irish folk song for a video game remaster which COULD have been Xenogears, the more likely game would be, of course, Metal Gear Solid. bielesibub
I must be the only person in the world that hated the Metal Gear "games". Sit watching a cut scene for what feels like hours and then play as the character to open a door to start the next cut scene.
hogso
Oh, Kojima went way OTT in the end, but MGS wasn't too bad. He was massively influenced by western cinema of course, so having those dramatic moments play out away from gameplay was / is critical to the way he makes games. Definitely not for everyone though! villa4europe
5 was good, had an under appreciated genius to it 1 was incredible and needs a remake, 2 got away with it based on hype, 3 and 4 weren't enjoyable games
Ingram85
All I need is 1-4 plus Peace Walker packaged in one bundle similar to the ps3 collection. 5 I have zero interest in.
villa4europe
I dunno, I think its time for another remake of 1 Was really hoping Sony would buy it and give it to bluepoint
villa4europe
caught a quick glimpse of the live stream and saw that ni no kuni 1 and 2 are a remaster but it looked like for xbox and not playstation which is surprising if you havent already then play number 1
Daweii
I believe the Ni No Kuni 1 Remaster came out on PlayStation in 2019, so this is merely Xbox getting a bit of parity back in Japan. I don't think the announced Ni No Kuni 2 was a remastered version, at least they didn't say that during the showcase. Very good showcase though. Nothing mind-blowing as far as new reveals is concerned, but that was a massive showcase for Xbox in Japan that really showed their intent in that region. Xbox hasn't been this strong in Japan since the Xbox 360 generation, and it's great to see them take it seriously again.

hogso
Konami stream 1 on going as I type. Suikoden I HD confirmed. FINALLY. And Suikoden II, referred to as 'HD Remaster'. They've shown off a ton of footage. Out next year, PS4, XB1, Switch and Steam. Finish the show, it's over. Chindie Posted September 16, 2022 VT Supporter Share Posted September 16, 2022 Capcom did a massive info dump on Street Fighter 6. In short, they've chucked the kitchen sink at it and it looks astounding.
hogso
Not a peep from Konami on Silent Hill or Metal Gear. They spent about 25 mins talking about Yu Gi Oh. I guess that's there audience over there nowadays.

The realism part of 5, where you could spend ages figuring out the best way to approach a village in the open world setting was genuinely incredible. And then there would be a cut scene with a bloke who can fly and is on fire, or controls ants or something and I'm like, nope, off.
hogso
Forspoken doesn't look...too...bad? Still so hard to get past the 'reskinned' FF XV aspect, though. And although Star Ocean 6 looks decent, but it's so difficult to get hyped for those games when there hasn't really been a very good one since 2? Although I did enjoy Till the End of Time, for the most part.

The game got better as it went on in a genius kind of way that I've not experienced in another game If your strategy was to approach the village at night with a sniper rifle and pick them all off then after a couple of levels the villages would install floodlights and the soldiers would wear helmets You could then do side missions where you steal a shipping container full of helmets so on the next mission they were out of stock Now apply that to more or less every play style in the game, if you went in gung ho then they started wearing armour etc etc it was incredible Its a shame the opener is so bad and I can't be bothered to replay it
