Employing someone to randomly slap your nutsack throughout the day would provide a more pleasurable experience compared to supporting Villa.

Some people pay for that!

He's o.k. Tall and can head it away o.k, no idea on his quality with the ball.

Seems Gerrard is still obsessed with getting Mings out of the club as his profile fits replacing him more than Diego.

If we're looking down that way surely Salisu would be a better fit although I guess they'd be looking for close to 40m.

Why bother when we already have Mings, Konsa, Chambers and Hause that is better than him plus if a injury crisis happens we have Feeney and Kamara as 5th and 6th options.

Why waste the money when he’s worse than what we have.

Unless it somebody better then it’s pointless

I'm assuming we are just proceeding with securing Hause's replacement. It just became more of a priority after Diego went down.

With FFP it's poor practice to have too many resources tied up in one position. To bring in someone close to Diego's quality we would probably have to offer something close to his current wage. From a budget perspective that would be less than ideal bordering on disastrous if it's a multi year deal.

How much would Bednarek go for?

Surely why not take a punt on someone like Jakub Kiwior - young polish centerback. Was linked to Roma and West Ham?

At Saints forums they expect 15m. But they also seem happy to give him away if that was the case.

But if he comes in he’ll be asking first if he’s going to start most games given it’s a WC year.  If he comes in it suggests from the outside he’s been given assurances of starting surely.

what a deal hey.

We offer 40m for JWP in 2021, and end up with Ings & Bednarek for 40m.

Southampton playing a good game.

Genuine question, is he any better than Hause?

Attila Szalai would be worth a punt. Bednarek has 6 seasons of Prem experience so we know just how crap he is. He’s hardly shown signs of improving. Matty Cash and Danny Ings need to intervene & have words here

Great shout. Much rather sign someone like him on the cheap who potentially could really help us out then an aging Bednarek who is prone for errors constantly.

The aging Bednarek? He’s 26, two years older than Szalai 🤣

Thought he must be out of contract in the summer for this to have any legs. Nope, 2025.

Would be a straight up bad move to give this fella his retirement contract. Maybe if we get him on a free it's worthwhile taking him to 30 before he heads back off to Europe's more minor leagues on a free.

Not saying it was solely down to him of course but the guy has been in the heart of defense in two 0-9 defeats and a 0-6 defeat during his time with Southampton, along with a bunch more horrible displays among then a 0-4 against us.

I’ve seen some hot takes recently but this is a doozy!
