Farlz
Solid signing. Look healthy at LB now.

Popular Post StanBalaban
Every point makes a difference in this league. We don't yet have the squad to be able to comfortably blend 18 year olds in, in the same vein that many of the top tier clubs can. Solid move that allows Chrisene to develop his game on loan, so he's prepared to play for us in the next year or two.
HolteExile
Looks a reasonable deal for us, on paper. From the player's point of view it seems an odd one. He's unlikely to play ahead of Digne except for illness or injury and doesn't seem like he can cover other positions. And he's at an age where you'd think first team football is the priority. But if he's competent at all and it means no more Ash at left back, win win.
useless
Chrisene might not even be ready for a loan just yet, never mind our first team, he only turned eighteen earlier this year and missed the whole of last season. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he stayed and played for our U21s at least until January.

sidcow Posted July 9, 2022 VT Supporter Share Posted July 9, 2022 Ludwig. I'm egg cited. One for the older VT members there.
supermon
I've been wanting us to sign him as a replacement for Neil Taylor, he is very good, has good pace and has got quite a few assists in his time as a left back.
skarroki
Not the thread for it but seeing as everyone else is mentioning him, Chrisene isn't a left-back. Watch him play instead of looking at his position on FIFA and you'll see he's not set for a career in that role.

I’m sure half the children’s TV programmes from my childhood were written and produced by people who were completely off their tits the whole time.
striker Posted July 9, 2022 Visiting Supporter Share Posted July 9, 2022 If he does sign for Villa Digne will be rested more throughout the season hopefully meaning less injuries. Very decent loan signing.
Popular Post Rich192
Also worth noting that we now have 5 subs, as we mention a lot. Inter always replace the wing backs in game due to how much running they do, and with us planning on using Digne a lot for our attacks, Augustinsson will get more minutes than you imagine. Nothing but positive about this, and saves the bulk of the budget for a top class centre midfielder.

All well and good. But I don't see a back up LB as a deal breaker next season. I view this as another sign that NSWE aren't **** around and want to bum rush Europe *this season*. They want depth and experience in all positions in case injuries strike.
alreadyexists Posted July 10, 2022 VT Supporter Share Posted July 10, 2022 This is great news if it all pans out, let’s hope he’s Ludwig Julyinson though… am I right!? 1
Greenfly
Ludwig is such a great name. For that reason alone I welcome this signing.

Don’t really get this comment. Is it a not-so-thinly-veiled dig at the management? Digne has been superb since joining and fully deserves to be one of the first names on the team sheet.
Popular Post Delphinho123
A very sensible signing. He only needs to cover for a year or two (if we end up buying), and then we can either splurge on a left back to compete with an ageing Digne or we bring through a youth prospect. This to me also screams ‘we’re going to spend the rest of the budget on players that will improve the first team’.
Vancvillan
Even if Chrisene turns out to be a great left back, he might need 3-4 years yet. A 21 year old defender is still very young. A lot of our players were not playing top flight football (or were just breaking out) at that age.
