At 3-0 it would have been nice to have seen him come on for a little run out.

What’s the point ? He will be getting increasingly intense training situations and building up his workload with the physios. We have already seen what happens to players that are rushed back with Kamara. Leave him as long as possible, he won’t forget how to play.

CB isn't really one of those positions you change at any point unless you have to imo

Nice to not have to rush him back, nice for konsa to know we're not replacing him while he's playing so well (Gerrard take note...)

Did see Carlos celebrating one of the goals, he was loving it

If we don't need him this season then he can get the time in during pre season and have a fresh go of it. It's difficult to come back after such a long time off especially when new to the league and playing against match fit opponents.

The beauty of Carlos not being needed for so long is when he is training, it is ALL being the emery way. Any none emery football won't have been used in his recovery so in theory, when he does play, he will be 100% what we need. He gets to see each week in game emerys ways and gets trained in that way while getting back to full fitness.

Whilst he’s not playing it’s good to see he has a good relationship with the players. He seems very close with the Spanish/Portuguese speaking players. There was video last night where he’s climbing through a window having fun with Moreno, Dougie and the Emi’s

At 3 nil it felt like the right time to give him some minutes. As others have said, I assume he really isn't ready and is more of a bench warmer at the moment.

He's been on the bench for about six weeks now so is in serious training. I'd like to see him get a 90th minute sub cameo, could take off Young and have Konsa as RB for last few minutes.

However nothing gets past Don Unai and it could work the other way. We make that switch, concede a goal and miss out on top 6 by narrow GD so those are the small details.

He played 60 mins of that behind closed doors game against was it Bristol Rovers that we lost and hasnt played since.  Strange they havent played him in the u21s . Maybe he isnt quite ready but is being kept as part of the group for his mental strength.

I think training with first team squad is right way to bring him back slowly. We don't have a need to be bringing him on atm. Chambers have the versatility to play the CMD/CB role and that's why he's ahead of him coming off the bench.

Mings and Konsa play every min of every game. Emery seems to be one to not break up defensive partnerships in games it seems without a reason. We usually add a defender if anything. Carlos can't play the roles Chambers is being asked to do as CDM or RB. The versatility is why he's coming off the bench so much, never is it replacing Konsa or Mings

We have a first choice centre paring who have a great understanding of the system and each other’s game.

Carlos will get his chance but there is no need to break things up for the sake of it.

There’s no need risk a potential injury to Carlos either. Being part of the squad and on the bench in it’s self must be a massive boost for him.
