Delphinho123
Bassey makes perfect sense on a lot of levels. Should be able to get him for £20m as well on relatively low wages. It would allow us to then go big on another midfielder and a striker.

I agree, bassey ticks a few boxes for us Covers 2 positions comfortably Young and room to grow low fee and wages better than Hause and probably won’t mind competing to win his spot Edited May 31, 2022 by CarryOnVilla

useless
Not sure Bassey would even be fourth choice centre back with us, he might have played well in the final in that position but in general isn't rated as a centre back, only played there for Rangers because of injuries, seems like there's also an element of people presuming we a central defender based on his appearance. if we sign him i doubt he will play anywhere other left back, unless we have an injury crisis in central defence. Cover for Mings, cover for Digne (who missed a fair few games), first choice for the cup games. He'd end up getting plenty of game time for us.
Demitri_C
Bassey maksa lot of sense and worked under gerrard so i think if stevie g wants him im sure he would come.
useless
He'd get plenty of game time as a left back that is his position, he's a very attack minded modern full back as well, only played centrally because injuries, as a central defender he would be behind Mings, Costa, and Hause if he's still here for a place on the left hand side. If we sign Bassey it's to challenge Digne.

If we sign Bassey it's to challenge Digne. This isn't accurate. He played CB initially because of an injury but then kept his place at CB after impressive performances. Also then shifted back to LB too at times, depending on Barasic's form. He played at CB against Dortmund, Leipzig and was great.
useless
Ask Rangers fans and they will tell you he's very much a left back, that's where he's excelled because of his attacking play down the left hand side and why he's presently so highly rated. If Mings was freed up of the captaincy too, moving to vice captain with it going to McGinn he can stay 100% focussed on his game. He's still going to be key in organising the defence and helping cover for Carlos who takes on the playmaking role from CB
