The issue was that OGS told him he'd be part of United's first team plans, then (predictably) gave him about 100 minutes of football or something. Ronaldo signing last minute in that summer window bumped everyone down the pecking order. Greenwood was still an option up to the February of that season aswell. useless Posted July 23, 2023 Share Posted July 23, 2023 Signed Ola Aina, taking their squad size to 37 players, Aina is a right-back, according to transfermarkt they already have five of those before his arrival, four of them they signed last summer, Giulian Biancone, Richie Laryea, Serge Aurier, and Neco Williams. Lewis O'Brien was rated as one of the best midfielders in the Championship before they signed him last summer, but hasn't played at all for Forest, would be a good signing for one of the relegated teams, or even Luton, Josh Bowler and Omar Richards in similar positions, both have been previously highly rated Championship players but got lost in big Forest squad, Richards even got move to Bayern Munich. Going to have to sell a few players. O'Brien was meant to be loaned out from memory, but couldn't go to Blackburn(?) due to some admin mix up. Josh Bowler was loaned out last season. Richards broke his leg last pre-season (possibly even first friendly game for Forest?). Both could feature this time round, depending on recovery. I imagine Forest have got a lot of players whose contract will end after this season (Aurier etc) so probably quite a few loan/release situations coming up.
