Who the hell signed a fixed term agreement for shirt sales regardless of sales. That's bonkers. The sooner we get out of that the better It's a pretty standard model, the club gets a fixed amount of revenue that's guaranteed and they can budget for the years ahead. They also don't have to worry about trying to sell shirts and all the logistics that goes with it. @NurembergVillan can explain it better.
HanoiVillan
I would assume among the benefits are a] you have more channels/outlets through which to sell the product, b] you limit your downside potential losses through overstock or understock at the expense of limiting your upside gains, and c] as a consequence of b] the revenue stream is more predictable from an accounting perspective. But to be clear those are complete guesses.

But to be clear those are complete guesses. Fanatics take the risk and the potential upside. Football clubs are never going to make millions on shirt sales so let a specialist do it and guarantee yourselves a fixed income each season. Fanatics going to make more money the more clubs they link up with and have just started advertising on TV so seems they're only going one way at the moment.
