Chindie Posted March 24, 2022 Author VT Supporter Share Posted March 24, 2022 Predator 2 gets compared to the first and (understandably) comes up wanting. It's just not as well made, feels a bit cheaper etc. And it's got Gary Bussey in it. It's not bad though and actually builds the whole Predator mythos, which is a plus.
villa4europe
When you look at what came next Predator 2 is the least of the series worries That said I actually thought predators was alright... Brodie was miscast but it's watchable
Phil Silvers
Big Wednesday 1978 Surfing flick that is probably unknown to most, it was flop at the box office but has become a cult film for surfers and it earned its director John Milius millions ... George Lucas and Steven Spielberg thought this film would be the American Graffiti (1973) of surfing films - that it was destined to be such a hit that they famously traded profit points on their next two films, Star Wars (1977) and Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) with director John Milius. This trade would earn Milius millions of dollars while his own film would flop at the box office.

Underrated actor these days, although he is getting on a bit. Falling Down is also excellent. It's almost a deadpan black comedy.
useless
The Fall (2006) - Great cinematography, good performances especially by the two main characters Lee Pace as the injured stuntman and Catinca Untaru as the little girl, and a good inventive story, in the film the girl meets the stuntman at the hospital they're both staying at, he tells her a fantasy story and we see this story filtered through her imagination, which allows for a lot creativity, elements of the real world leak into the story both from the stuntman's perspective and from the little girl's, and things can change as and when they feel like it, also gets more interesting when you find out his motivations for telling the story and how those motivation's also influenced the story. I just can’t get past the fact that Danny Glover is able to achieve what Arnie and his crack team of specialists could not.

Didnt expect much but was an entertaining old school private detective film Apparently flopped at the box office If you haven't already seen it, you should check out Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang. This time it's Robert Downey Jr. and Val Kilmer teaming up.

Shane Black Pretty sure he has some leathal weapon films under his belt which are great films, also long kiss good night which I haven't seen in years but used to love Unfortunately he then also has the Predator on his CV
Ingram85
Constantine. Thought it was meh when I first saw it around its release time. Hadn’t even thought about it since until recently and gave it a watch out of curiosity remembering it to be bad. Enjoyed it from start to finish. Very enjoyable film as long as you don’t take it too seriously or rigorously compare it to its source material.
maqroll
"Sirens", with Hugh Grant, Sam Neal and Elle MacPherson. They marketed the film all wrong and it never did much. But it's worth a watch, and not just for the T&A.

Not saying they are great movies but better than their IMDB scores.

It’s great fun. Yep I loved John Carter. My young nephew loves sci-fi films and I told him about John Carter as he has never heard of it only just last week. Xela
Get Shorty Great ensemble cast and as cool as Travolta has been in recent times. I say recent very loosely as it was 1995! I mean compared to his early films. I'm older now than he was when he did Get Shorty. That's depressing.
