So it's a free transfer?

i guess whether its free or a few hundred thousand, the most important thing is getting his 50k p/w or 2.6m p/year off the books.

Good news for all parties. We free up a squad space and some wages going forward, Calum will hopefully get some more match time, and Cardiff get a capable defender for that level.

It is good to see some of the fringe players who are unlikely to contribute getting moved on, as it is dead money for us and wasted time in a short career for them. Hopefully we will see Dendonker, Hause, Olsen and Marschall move on before the end of the window for the sake of their careers and our wage bill.

With the greatest of respect to the guy this is very good news

Excruciatingly average footballer for this level.

Getting rid of mid players and raising the average ability throughout the entire squad and not just the starting 11 must be good for everyone involved

We will always have that week when he became an elite ball playing centre back

And the day he was an elite defensive mid. Such a strange player. Capable of some remarkable things at both ends of the scale.

Was a great finish at Leeds. He also played an amazing pass for one of the goals in the 4-0 over Southampton.

Given that was the one week where it all clicked under Slippy that feels like a complete illusion now and it actually didn't happen.
