Sure, yeah, but he was part of an attack that scored two vs the best team in the world. If we think the answer is “we should have scored four vs Man City” then that’s happened once in the last 450 matches so it’s a pretty blinkered approach. Our issue vs City was not scoring goals, it was conceding them. Edited May 23, 2022 by Adam2003

Any other team, would have attracted an FA investigation.....but they are used to us now. Man City conceded three in seven mins to get knocked out the champions league. Weak mentality? They've been 2-0 down at home about four times in four years. It's tiring holding onto a lead there. A chasm in player ability and coaching led to losing that match.

If you think adding in a more clinical striker would have been the difference in that game - ignoring Watkins actually getting an assist and his strong general play - then that’s totally fine and I don’t need to argue the toss. Maybe you’re right and with the right striker we can just win all those 4-3 instead of losing them 3-2 Edit: as noted after this, off topic and so will leave it! Yay Boubacar! JAMAICAN-VILLAN
From what I've been seeing/reading. It appears there is a misconception that he is solely some kind of defensive battering ram It appears he is actually more of an intelligent, complete midfielder, who can defend well, and has a brilliant range of passing as well! One who can seemlessly play and transition through the full centre of the pitch! ( 6/8 ) Edited May 23, 2022 by JAMAICAN-VILLAN

He is the base from where you start progressing the ball and the first line of defence when opponents break our lines. Recieves the ball under pressure really well and then progresses it with simple passes whether long or short. And when breaking up play he will track the runners and force them into a non threatening position rather than rashly flying in. 6 yellow cards all season suggests he is intelligent in his tackling. Admittedly i have learned alot of this today but from watching his reels and looking at stats he is very very good at this at a very young age. Exactly what we need imo to gain more possession and keep possession.

We haven’t signed him to be a roaming midfielder at all.
