Targett largely changed that but now looks like we even get to upgrade him. Good signing I genuinely think Bouma was our last good one. 5

MSvillain
We also have Chrisene who is is only 17, I believe plays primarily as a LB and is one of our highest rated youngsters so Digne could bridge that gap
Beastmix
Signing older players will (or, at least, should) help to cut out the errors caused by our naïve youthful squad. They'll learn from them. The older players will give us the mentality needed when we're up against it (see: the Wolves capitulation) Edited January 9, 2022 by Beastmix

We paid about 15m ish all-in for Targett anyway and this guy is an upgrade for a few mill more. This is definitely a positive move. Add to this that he apparently wanted to come here, when other destinations have been possible. Digne wants in. If we qualify for Europe this season or next, we'll need a squad. I'm sure Digne will be on a 5 1/2 year contract with us. I'm a little worried about our wage bill though as he'll be 3rd player on over 100k a week.

He then tweets this story in evidence of his theory that Digne is moving. Circular. I’m not questioning the point he’s making, but this sort of ‘journalism’ is a bit odd. Zatman
Interesting he is OK but not the best about. Like a slightly better Ian Harte The transfer policy has radically changed
AshVilla
Imagine if we could get rid of El Ghazi as well. What a deal this would be. It's funny how he's suddenly becomes a bad player since this news has broke from the Everton fans. The salt is palpable. I wonder if we are going big now because we know potentially Newcastle will be after similar players in the summer. True, plus Southampton getting taken over. I did say we might speed up some of our plans due to Newcastle getting taken over by the Saudis. Have to utilise any sort of head start we can get.

TheMelvillan
I suppose there is no thought to extending ash Youngs contract beyond this year so will be needing to replace the lb backup option
turvontour
Our bench looks phenomenal now as it stands. Even with a couple of injuries. Something we really lacked last season.
