Vasco agrees everything with Coutinho, even separates the number and prepares an announcement for the attacking midfielder; see details

I expect he's taken some manner of pay cut but all his salary being paid is great news. Hopefully he does well there and can seal a permanent move to them in Jan or next summer.

It’s a shame really, so much talent in his locker but injuries and fitness troubles took their toll. Barca move didn’t work out but he did well at Bayern… really seemed to tail off after that.

A shame the way his career went after being such a genuinely top talent and performer for the most part. We could really have done with a fit and consistent Coutinho but alas…

Showed flashes and wowed us while on loan… but making the move permanent (or the contract being so long) was a big mistake. One of many from the duo of SG and CP.

At least we’ve moved on to bigger and better things, still a few traces to remove…

Good luck Phil, hope you enjoy and are constantly displaying that gleaming white smile 😁😆

Massive credit to Monchi for securing this deal tbh. In years gone by we'd have just cried off and eaten the loss - at least now we've got his wages covered for a year.

His stats at Bayern look good but he wasnt that great for them. Rarely started for them

Truth is Liverpool was really the only club he ever shined at but they started winning things when he left

Do we think that covers Barkleys, Enzo and SIJ wages more or less?

Man had an appearance like a school shooter in his youth. Glad someone told him to get that skin fade. Difficult to play football in a trenchcoat.

Qatar covered his wages last year and Vasco covering his wages this year so no change in our wage cost from last year to this year.

So he joins Vasco on loan 🤦‍♂️ does that mean we are still paying his wages too?

Can't get rid of the guy 😅

I can't imagine they're paying all of his large (but not Digne-level) wages.

They'll definitely be contributing a significant chunk, and therefore it's better than us terminating his contract and recognising the full loss of his net book value as well as the compensation we'd owe if we did.

It was media confirmed yesterday that they are paying 100% of his wages. I don’t have a link to hand but I’m sure somebody can provide the reporting.
