Get a little more mileage out of him in lower stakes competitions. And if he really impresses, we might even keep him. I think if Emery wants him to stay he will, he might be mates with Gerrard but he also knows he can’t coach. I wouldn’t be surprised if Gerrard wants him, in fact I’d be surprised if he didn’t go after him. The Saudi league want stars, bringing in Gerrard hoping to attract stars even though very few will go. Coutinho despite his struggles has a big profile which they’ll love and easy for Gerrard to attract. Seems an easy transfer. Just depends if Emery wants to keep Coutinho and that is the unknown. Coutinho seemingly hasn't much left in the tank but could shine playing at a lower level and is still a big name. Wouldn't be surprised if this hasn't already been talked about. Just depends if he wants to go over there. I'd prefer him to stay and rediscover some form and consistency but it could be another ings type opportunity.
